With that being the case the only way that would be possible is to have a high entry fee and bring your own paint. Or they would do low entry fee and buy their paint at a lower rate possibly. Other wise the only way i see it to be bring your own paint is if those saying bring your own paint set up a field and run it themselves __________________

somone should just step up and get paint vendors to come down, im sure if you could get enough people to play that one or two paint companys would bring down a vendor to sell paint.

That would be good to get paint vendors but it wont happen. Paint vendors only go to big tournaments. And its Utah. Everyone know Utah is one of the top ten states that has the least amount of tournament paintball teams.

There wont be a "pump" x-ball, but there will be other tournaments where pumps will be involved. Quote:
Fez, we are working on this. We will hopefully have everything posted by the end of this month. On our website and in here. Quote:
No worries... As we have said, it will be a limited pods/paint event, but hopefully with the same intensity. As for BYOP... I couldnt have said it better than Krispy! He is absolutely right. buy event paint=lower entry; BYOP=higher entry. And like we said- there will be bulk paint discounts if the team purchases so many cases of paint. AND it will be good paint. As for paint vendors... hmmm well, maybe one day! 😁 It is very possible to get sponsorship, but probably very difficult to get vendors.

You forget that the tournaments are expensive to put on. The only way to allow bring your on paint is to raise the addmission cost (like xpsl does) THis is great if your one of the teams that go to the finals, then you get your moneys worth. But if your out after the prelims then you helped pay for teams to move on. By using field paint the cost stops when your elimiinated and you pay a lot less for admission. Local promotors do tounaments in hopes of showing young adults a good time, breaking even and bringing in future business.

Good thoughts Skinny.... Don't forget volume...I mentioned earlier that we need more people playing tournaments (all kinds). We will not shut the entries down. This has been a necessity in the past because of the time factors, available fields, etc. We have the capacity to move the tournaments into another weekend if necessary. Everyone wins if the system works and the overhead is kept down. Velocity can keep the overhead down by having the fields always ready to go and players playing the tournaments and supporting the elements that promote paintball. As I have mentioned, the new fields will be used for tournaments only! The practice field for practice! This paint cost issue is resolved by the same factors. More players doing the sport at the venues can lower the costs. Simple! I would rather sacrifice $5-10 on a paint sell than lose another full five-man team participating in the tournaments. Another factor to consider here...It looks like Velocity will be able to initiate a lower tournament team entry fee for all divisions. We are still doing all of the cost factors, but the end figures should help more players play the games.

Here's a suggestion for the classification system. Let the teams have whoever they want on their team. Have an upper and a lower bracket. If possible every team plays each other. If not then try to put the better teams in the upper and keep the lesser teams in the bottom.
After the prelims, put the winning teams in order of points from the highest to the lowest. If any ties decide the better record by how fast their games were won. Then divide the number of teams by how many divisions you want. For instance, if you have 18 teams total, the top 6 are the upper division, next 6 the middle and the bottom 6 the lower division. The advantage to this is it's hard to stack a team for any division except for the upper because you don't know where the cut off line is and you don't have to worry about classification. It's also easier to plan for teams that sign late because you don't have to put them in a classification.
