2006-Exciting Tournament Information!

In regards to the following information, Velocity 1 will shortly follow-up with full details, rules, and entry information on our web site, Playatvelocity.com. He will post when that info is up:

First, Velocity Paintball will launch a "Top Gun" tournament on April 15th & 16th, 2006. The entry fees for this event will be $25 per person advance registration, $35 after February 15th, 2006. Paint will be tournament field paint. You may use any mechanical or semi-auto marker during the event, no ramping allowed. The event will take skill, strategy, markmanship, speed, endurance, and will be held over multiple field venues. Participants will attack and defend, one on one. All paintball enthusiasts are invited to participate. This is your chance to prove to all how good you are, and the winner will receive full recognition, trophy, and valuable prizes.

Second, Velocity Paintball announces that it will be holding 5-man air ball tournaments at the Velocity Fields in 2006. These tournaments will be on a 5-man X-Ball field, with the incorporation of NPPL rules, but with the X-Ball theme of play, a simplified point system, and limited pods per team per event. Paint will be tournament field paint. Divisions will be announced. The first of four tournaments is slated for May 13, 2006.

Third, for players with very limited budgets, we will hold no less than two 3-man X-Ball play tournaments...just for the fun of the game. Paint will be tournament field paint, limited pods per event. Divisions will apply. The first tournament for three man is still pending, could be as early as April 29, 2006.

Forth, if the demand comes through, we will provide 5-man standard NPPL format tournaments. We are still receiving player input and will make that decision after further discussion and a survey.

Finally, Velocity Paintball will provide a practice field for all teams that play at least two tournaments at the Velocity Fields. Certain minimal administrative fees will be needed to administer the practice field and certain restrictions will apply at the practice field. The administrative fee will be waived to teams that play 4 or more tournaments at Velocity. The field will be BYOP to the teams. The field will be available for practice on Fridays and Saturdays during our regular season. For 2006, the field will not be ready until April, weather permitting. We will no longer allow practice on the new grass fields, they will be reserved for tournament play only. All tournament teams that play at Velocity will receive certain discounts on paint.

We want top thank all those players who have given input into these tournaments. Further comments are welcome.

FANTASTIC!

Sounds like you guys are really getting on the ball for this one. I'm interested to know how the NPPL/X-Ball style works.
And I extremely psyched for the 3-man x-ball tourneys.
Hmmm... I may have to throw a team together.

what nppl rules will be applied? meaning the penalties and the ramping or what? cause i love the penalty box aspect. if you cheat you get time in the box.

We have some people who are looking at all the NPPL rules that will apply to the 5-man X-ball play as well as the standard X-ball rules. We will have an outline within the next month.

Questions - FYI

We have already had requests from players on how to sign up for the tournaments and are we going to restrict the number of teams.

1st. We hope to initiate sign-ups for all the tournaments within the next 30 days.

2nd. No...we will not restrict the number of teams! If we need another day to run the tournaments, then we will do it - whatever it takes!

3rd. Another league? Maybe! This is a strong possibility.

Thats sweet....

I like the idea of limited pods.

Another great idea would be for hopper ball only, or hopper ball and 5 pods per team, and they can be distributed however the team sees fit.....

pump games....

Great job. hope to see more posted as time rolls on

Thanks Krispy...
Teams will be able to distribute pods how they want, pods will be limited on events however. This will help keep the costs to players down, but keep the game exciting! There has been requests for unlimited paint on the 3-man x-ball format though...

I say with 5 man xball a team gets 8-10 pods a game, bring your own paint, and pump xball would be gay
