X-Ball Updates There are some interesting things happening with the PSP X-Ball Tournament play!
Interested X-Ball players should go to the PSP web site. PSP will also be adding some additional updates shortly. Velocity Paintball will be following the PSP rules, divisions, and formats. This includes the size of the playing field which we will have to adapt to. Therefore, we suggest that you become accustomed to that. There is a strong possibility of us doing a 2X2 tournament. Two events would be 3-man and then moving the best 3-man teams into 5 man X-Ball events. By 2007, we would be doing mainly 5-man X-Ball. Finally, if we can pull this off, Velocity Paintball would like to field a 5-man X-Ball team to the San Diego PSP event in August of 2006.

Updates: There are some changes to the X-Ball formats discussed through this forum and through other discussions:
First, there will be no 3-Man X-Ball tournaments at Velocity Paintball. Second, Velocity Paintball will follow as closely as possible to the PSP rules, formats, classifications, etc., for the X-Ball tournaments. Third, we suggest that you address questions/inquires, etc. through the Velocity Forum regarding the various tournaments being held at Velocity. The 801 forum use by Velocity will continue, but we can better serve the Advisory Board and others who do not use the 801 forums. The Velocity Forum will be released this evening, 1/4/06. The forum is basic for now and upgrades on the forum will be ongoing. Forth, constant new information is being added to the Velocity Website and a lot of new exciting information for the paintball players will be released on that site this week. Finally, back to X-Ball. We have come up with a program that will help with any questions or mis-respresentations concerning the costs of the X-Ball tournaments, and this includes paint! We invite you to keep visiting the Velocity Website for this, and all information regarding the X-Ball tournaments. Thanks....

UPDATE:
We now have 3 refs that are PSP X-ball Certified to ref our events. We havent set a date yet, but we will be holding a free ref clinic for anybody that would be interested in learning the X-ball reffing format. An important note that we wanted to make is that we are altering the time format and roster format (with PSP permission) to allow for A roster of 5-7 people. We will allow a longer time-out inbetween game points, and it will be a shorter period, 10 minutes instead of 15. For more information, just keep checking our web-site: http://www.playATvelocity.com/forums We will also be doing an open registration at BadAss Paintball on the 11th of february 1689 North Main, Sunset. We will be there all day answering questions about the X-ball format, game play, and taking registration forms for those teams that have them completed already. We will have refreshments, raffle, and a fun time in a fun environment, so come join us!

skinny, Yes to the roster. What was the last PSP tournament you played in? Yes, all other teams will need PSP I.D. We are now affiliated with PSP. However, the PSP has not been fully established in the Intermountain area, and so this year and next is the team formations and further classification period for all interested teams in this area. http://www.playatvelocity.com I will send you a PM on the BYOP and concerning your sponsor for that paint.

Because we are now going to host the SPPL, we had to make some changes to our tournament schedule for the Woodsball Skirmishes and the "Top Gun" tournament. The new dates are:
"Top Gun" Tournament, moved from April 1st to April 15th, 2006 5-Man Skirmishes Tournament-NO DIVISIONS!! (we will be following the SPPL rules format! We decided to drop the april 15th skirmish to better accomadate the SPPL! We will now have 3 Skirmish tournaments and will still sponsor the winning teams into next years SPPL--which will be held at Velocity again.. The new dates for the Skirmishes are as followed: June 3rd July 1st September 30th **no changes to X-Ball Tournament dates: Young Guns, Division 3, Division 2. For Division 1: see details on web site. April 29 May 20 June 24 August 5 Pump Action Marker Tournament (date pending)-probably summer This will also likely be a charity event for the Utah Head Injury Association! Details TBA.

As a note, people have been asking about the airball field and when it will be open for tournament practice. We will not open the airball field until April. Or whenever the grass is recooped from winter.
