Here is my view on the bps issue,

Shooting fast is great but you really only need to do it off the break, after that it is just pointless to shoot 15+bps. Sure you can hold a lane, for maybe 10 seconds, after that you have to load and by that time somebody could be posted on you. I love to watch people rail on there guns as fast as they can while trying to hold a lane, run out of paint, load, then get shot out by the guy that gets posted on them while they are in the process of loading.

I say dont limit bps or ramping, use the nppl overshooting rule (i believe it is 16 or 18 shots), and see how that works. In the uxpl 2004 season ramping or bounce wasnt really checked and things seem to work out fine.

Or you could ban all hoppers but revys and let them play that way.

hmmm

Honestly i don't think there would be anyway a small league could enforce any rule on speed or ramping. So its all pointless anyway other than limiting the paint carried on.

This reminds me of the paintball drug testing thread (what a stupid idea) this would all add costs to enforce that would have to be passed onto the players.

derek

This is a very good point and something we have been thinking about. Once we land on a BPS rule, then the question becomes how to enforce it. In the end we may have to pick a rule simply because it is the most enforcable by the UXPL staff.

i Robot

Even the NPPL Robot does not gaurentee no Ramping. It certainly does not find the "Cheater sequencens" that can be programmed into any Chip, stock or aftermarket by a good Eprom programmer.

Thats why they are looking at alternative rules to thier current rules.

What can I say I don't like cheaters 🙂
