UXPL Marker Rules |

UXPL Marker Rules There has been a lot of discussion about how marker BPS should (or shouldn't) be controlled. Originally the UXPL was taking the no ramping position for 2005 and at this time the 2005 rules are written to disallow any kind of ramping.
But as I've thought about this rule, I decided I wanted to find out what the current players, potential players and spectators of the UXPL want to see. Please keep in mind that any BPS cap options will require most players to purchase a new board. __________________ If you hate your parents, the man or the establishment, don't show them up by getting wasted and wrapping your car around a tree. Cap Cap it!!! SOme of us are poor and like the game to depend on skill not firepower.

hey, to be able to lay a ton of paint can take skill. If the paintball industries want to put out a gun w/ the sweetest, fastest board, so be it. That just means we're gonna have to run harder, snap faster, and save up to get one of our own... and isn't there like some unwritten cap on marker noids so they can't shoot a million bps...? all that means is that the poor players (like you and me) are going to need to run harder, snap faster, out smart players, and save up to buy one of our own! beat the speed, and you've beaten half of the player! learn to beat the new fast paced style of game! wow, that was fun, lol. __________________

i say no because people playing the uxpl would have to spend money to get their board reporgrammed or just buy a new board for a local circuit.

^true people in utah are poor and i know i wouldn't want to pay money for a new board(even though I can cap my gun at a slower speed).

If you cheat against me this is what I'll do. I will stick my gun under your mask and ramp on your face for a few seconds to disorient you, then I will proceed to tank whip you in the nuts repetitively until you pass out in the middle of the field so I can wear you on my back like a buffalo hide and sneak behind the rest of your team. What can I say I don't like cheaters 🙂

lol I can hit 20+bps doesn't mean i need to. I disagree with the arguement on firepower. Anybody can shoot fast, Its making those shots count that are skillful.
You guys who wanna shoot three cases per tournament thats your businese. Been there done that. Just no need for it. I dont want to start an argument here but if you disagree with fast shooting guns, you are 1 of 2 things, stuck in the cocker days, or 2 got a spyder or a piranha. You cant play tournaments without a fast shooting gun these days if you cant handle it, play rec ball.

Tubby dont be a Dick! I disagree with your Opinion in the above statement. Derek has been an Am and Pro Player since before you were born! (The stuck in the past comment ain't gonna fly with him or me) Derek, Cory and I understand that Tournaments use fast guns. You are WAAAAAAAY oversimplifying this discussion. All sports have some sort of rules yes even LDS church Blood ball has rules. The question is what type of rules should we have for ourselves. Other sports that use technology have regulations and classifications for different types of technology. Such as NASCAR. MLB only allows certain types of Bats to be used, Football has Holding, offsides, interference rules, etc..... I agree with Derek's underlying philosphy. The obsession with BPS has eroded the skill of the game. Instead of getting in shape and developing snap shooting skills people just get cheater chips for thier guns. Its getting to the point of Sillyness. Sure I like the paint sales but come on. Like it or not at some point the BPS race will need to be regulated. If the NPPL adopts the NXL rules it is likely that XPSL, and other local tournaments will also adopt similar rules. The UXPL wants to prepare players for play at the next level (XPSL or NPPL) as such we will use similar rules. We want lots of players to be able to play not just the ones who can afford $2500 super 30 bps full auto chipped guns. The bottom line is: If we allow Ramping guns then 80-90% of the guns even in a local tournament will be running near 20 bps. Even if the slow, fat old men like me can only pull the trigger at 5bps. Then since Ramping is almost full auto why not allow that too.. This discussion is not just q question of where we are but of where we are going.... Personally I am not advocating for or against Ramping or BPS. There are Pros and Cons on both sides. I do beleive that a serious discussion about the Pros and Cons of each side of this issue is good to have. Insults are not necessary. Rant off Now.............. 🙂 __________________ -Allen Turner, Paintball Evangelist (ret) Owner Millennium Paintball Producter of Paintball Scenario Games Paradox Games Promoter Utah Extreme Paintball League Last edited by Allen Turner : 01-26-2005 at 07:24 PM.

Like I said I dont want to start an argument. I know derek could be considered the most known player in utah besides dale price but when he played there wasn't guns capable of 30 bps. I am not saying allow ramping boards I am saying everyone semi auto and shoot as fast as you can. And yes it does take skill to be able to shoot 20 bps without ramping.
