The skill is walking the trigger without ramping or full auto.

A monkey can lane with ramping and a bps cap.

NPPL Rules

NPPL Rules are finalized for 2005....

They are 1 shot 1 Pull (No Ramping , Rebound, etc)
No BPS Cap

The UXPL will be using the same standard...

No Ramping, No Bounces, No NXL boards.

All you players who have Ramping guns and aftermarket chips be advised. It is the PLAYERS responsibility to make sure thier gun is in compliance with the written rules.

I will be posting the updated UXPL Rules in the next couple days..

Rebound vs Ramping

I see that according to Allens post that the Rebound mode on SP guns will be allowed in the UXPL. Why is this firing mode being allowed? Through my investigation of Rebound (which is a updated version of Turbo Mode) it seems that rebound can be classified as a type of ramping.

Now I am no expert on ramping, but if I understand correctly after a specific ROF is acheived the gun kicks into full auto or goes upto a specified ROF until the minimum ROF is no longer sustained. According to the article on WARPIG http://www.warpig.com/paintball/technical/paintguns/smartparts/nerve/rebound/

I see this option as ramping. In order for the turbo mode to be activated a specific ROF must be acheived and maintained. At which point the gun begins registering every "aftershock" or Rebound (As they call it) of the trigger and the switch as a seperate pull and as long as there are enough trigger pulls and rebounds the gun will continue to fire at the max ROF. So for example if the max ROF is 15 BPS and a person pulls the trigger 11 times a second but causes 3 rebounds per pull, they are achieving 33 "pulls" or trigger events per second. Since the gun will only go 15 bps, the trigger software ignores the other 18 trigger events. But if a gun with this capability can go 30 bps with a hopper capable of 22+ bps then the gun would be shooting at much higher ROF's than they should be.

I guess I would like Allen and the other UXPL staff to give us a definite and detailed explanation of what a trigger "pull" is. My personal opinion is that each back movement-forward movement of the trigger and one trigger event on the switch is a pull. Any rebound or additional connections to the swtich in one pull should not count as a trigger pull.

Jason I am not sure where you are coming from on this..
Rebound is NOT Allowed it Violates the 1 pull 1 shot rule....

SP's Rebound is just another name for Ramping. It adds gun cycles when you pull the trigger so by definition it is not allowed by NPPL and hence by UXPL rules...

PS: ahh I see how my wording may have not been clear. I edited it for future readers... my bad.. : 😳

Allen’s post above was to point out that rebound was not allowed.

From the UXPL rule book:

1.1.5. Marker Operation. Markers/Paintguns must fire only one paintball for every complete pull and release of a standard trigger. Nonstandard triggering devices are not allowed. …………………..

Rebound or any other mode that fires more than one shot per pull will not be allowed.

It is spelled out in rule 1.1.5 you can read it, Cory's post has the link.

Player is thrown out, team plays 1 man down.
Second ramping gun the team is disqualified.
