No ramping, no BPS cap

That way you don't have to deal with the ramping issue altogether (making sure ramps are capped at a certain BPS, violators will be easier to catch, etc) and people can shoot as their finger can take them.

Those that complain about having no BPS cap (like Derek) are missing the point. Making your fingers move faster is a skill you can improve through practicing over time.

If you don't have an electronic board controlling your marker, how do you expect to limit the BPS of a person doing it using a mechanical trigger? It's impossible, unless there is a ref for each player. And even then, the only excuse the refs could use would be "hey you, I think your fingers are moving too fast but I'm not sure. I'm disqualifying you anyway."

And don't tell me that "us poor people depend on skill, not firepower." Here at USU I brought my Spyder Shutter which is stock except for the grip and barrel, and it works PERFECTLY WELL against people on my team and people we play with. I got my mag stolen back in OH a few weeks ago, but I'm surviving with my Shutter...

You don't need to shoot 20 BPS to win, only one of those shots needs to hit the person. Shooting more does increase your chances, but it all comes down to how much you work on accurate snap shooting.

If you aren't willing to put the time to practice your game and shoot faster (I practice every day while I'm sitting in class, etc just by tapping the desk or my arm or whatever) then you don't have room to talk. If you put forth effort, you will get better. That's a fact.

And if you have hit a brick wall and are stuck in your "I'm poor" mentality, then maybe this isn't the sport for you. If you ever hope to play in tournaments, you have to come to terms with the fact that shooting fast is allowed and will almost certainly remain that way.

you continue to believe that tournament ball depends on snap shooting and I'll tell you theres a time and place to use the snap shot. In the mean time. you continue to rely on the snap shot as people like myself continue to rip every lane on the field in route to the ultimate 8 in the neck bunker move. My 2 cents. 😉...

advantage boards

Ok children, the subject is cheaters... more specifically, the issue of cheater boards. How could the field refs, or anyone at all, be able to tell if you had an advantage board in your gun? you can check them out at their website. The website sells boards that will shoot full auto the first shot, then semi auto after that. The boards have adjustable ramping, so someone could adjust their ramping to start at 16 and move to say.. 22. The ref would never see the difference because the players fingers would be moving so fast anyways. Every board has a different ramp code, so when you turn the gun on it shoots normally, but when you enter the ramp code the gun goes into cheat mode.

There are very smart boards on the market, and to drop one in your gun is only around $200 or so. My question is, how can a small tournament like the UXPL check for aftermarket boards that are designed to cheat and not be caught? Will you be opening up every single marker on the field to see if they have a cheater board? Although I do not believe cheating like this is a widespread problem that will plague the tournament, I see that technology like this could eventually become a serious problem.

Over time technology will take over and the XPSL will probably do the 15 BPS cap

jordan is right over time they will just do the 15 cap, but then companies will make chips with 15 cap codes. then can send a gun over 15 bps. the only thing that could stop people from doing that is a radar gun that tells you how fast someone is shooting. i hear they do exist but havent seen any in utah

Well they are getting better in price and are more usable on the field. Here is a link for one: http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=H6OXFMrzfH6X34i-z2RXvMA6F45S3RNctV4=?ProductID=GNDAqArbDHoAAAECdSPjnsvk

Who knows maybe now the UXPL will get one or two just to keep it under control since you have all posted so much about cheating. Just come out and play your best, have a good time, and chill. It is a game and unfortunatly there is always a looser.

Well that is my two cents in this thread.

proto, i don't know if this is what you mean, but you act like derek is no good and doesn't know what he is doing. i know from experience, along with many other people, that he does know what he is doing, and even with me using my e-cocker and him an automag, i don't stand a chance. derek knows that not everyone can afford to shoot a ton of paint in one day and wants to keep it so that people don't feel that they must shoot that much to have a chance.

There are ways to get around people/teams that shoot alot of paint....

Use your brain and figure it out.....of course that requires your team to have good teamwork and able to work together well......

i'm not whining about teams shooting alot of paint, cause mine shoots quite a bit, its just that he is acting like derek doesn't know anything and can't handle people shooting alot of paint and i know he can.
