This thread is full of hyberbole. I'd like to address the facts.
1- Prizes. I know many of you for some reason think that my company is a filthy rich entity that has money to throw away. It is not. We rely on revenue from entry and paint sales to cover all of the costs of the league. We decided this year to provide the best prize packages possible for the players. As you all have observed registration and paint orders are often made at the last second before the tournament and often times after the registration deadlines. Therefore we have to wait until last minute to decide exactly what prizes we are able to provide to our teams. We also rely on our vendors to provide prizes for us sometimes free, sometimes at a discount and sometimes at full wholesale price. Sometimes our vendors don't come through with what they initially offer. Case in point is the evil pod packs for Addicts young guns. Those prizes were announced with the understanding that they would be provided by evil. They were not, we didn't know this until the day of the tournament when we opened the box. I apologize that on some prizes it takes a long time. We have had just about every kind of bad luck you can have this year from fires, to lost shipments, to damaged shipments, to theft to sponsors dropping out or not shipping items as promised. Despite all of this we have handed out well over $25,000 in prizes and discounts to the teams that have participated in our series. Further, because we sometimes order prizes right before the tournament that have to ship from east coast warehouses they don't arrive in time. We have faithfully delivered to the best of our ability our promised prizes. At the end of the day we provide prizes that rival those of the large national series and are better than any other state or regional series. Many teams who have played our series have been able to finance their other tournaments from the revenue from our prizes.

WOW!!!!
Drama, Drama, Drama Although I was not at the last event of this series, I played in all the other events and the MWXPL has been getting better every event. There are always "bad Calls" made by ref's but they are human. Bottom line is if you were there to have fun and you did, then the MWXPL staff did a great job. As far as prizes go, the MWXPL has had some of the largest and best prize packages for a local series. There may have been some bumps along the way with a few items, but overall they have come through with everything they have said. So THANK YOU MWXPL STAFF!!!!!! I hope that you will continue doing this series next year despite the criticism that you have received by some bad calls ref's have made. NOW EVERYONE SUPPORT ME IN THE "STOP THE DRAMA" CAMPAIGN!!!!!!!! __________________

2- Reffing
Frank makes some valid points and I appreciate that considering he has been one of our biggest critics this season. I take all input seriously and investigate all claims. First, the statement has been made that our refs are not qualified. I am curious as to what standard of qualification you are referring too? All of our referees have a) completed a ref training course, b) reviewed and been tested on the NPPL rules, c) have reffed several practices and other events prior to joining our staff. Further our ref staff has referees with more recent national level ref experience than any other ref staff in the state. Second, when a dispute arises from a call a ref staff can decide to do nothing or they can address the dispute, research the rules and deal equitably with the call in question. James went out of his way to judge the call this thread questions. The maximum penalty allowed by the rules was assessed against the Bruizer player who played on. Even after that maximum penalty there were still enough live players to give the Bruizers the win. People in this forum seem to think they were "screwed" and that the refs just lied and no one cared about the call. That was not the case at all, to suggest so is miopic at best. I find it interesting that a player in the middle of the game on another part of the field posted in the opposite direction claims to know more than those who were judging the match. Third, I have watched all the teams that play my league grow as teams and all have made substantial improvements in the way they play, the level of competition at the MWXPL is increadable. With that high level of competition and athleticism comes difficult calls, difficult situations and unfortunately a level of cheating never before seen in the sport. As happy as I am to see the teams grow and get better I am equally disappointed in the cheating that took place. In fact I didn't watch a single 7-man game all weekend where I didn't personally see someone cheat or attempt to cheat. What baffles me is when someone cheats, gets caught and then berates the referee who pulled him. That is just low class. Finally, I want to thank the captains of the various teams, especially Kyle who was more than diplomatic and kept his cool and was reasonable throughout the entire dispute.

3- Paint
I am sick of event paint. Next year the MWXPL will be BYOP. We have discussed this with our insurance company and will be able to proceed with a BYOP series. We have not finalized what our event entry will be next year, it will go up. I have bounced prices off of several of you and we will land the price somewhere in the ballpark we discussed. We are in the middle of auditing the MWXPL and will develop a plan to make it even better next year. We have also heard your requests for 3 and 5 man tournaments and will be doing both next year. Our next seasons schedual will be released in conjunction with the opening of the Red Cliffs 3-man winter series opener next week in St. George. As always I welcome criticism of the league. Don't be scared to tell us what you think or to be specific in your criticism. We aren't scared to become better.

I was unaware that was the case. My most sincere apologies. I was told something quite to the contrary by a third party, whom I trusted and thought was exposed to inside information. I (and apparently He) were incorrect. I understand refs make bad calls. And who can blame them? It's an exceedingly difficult job! The toughest thing for me to reconcile in my mind is the impact of the situation. Not necessarily the call itself, but rather that the impact in this case was so substantial. But sometimes, that's life. Kyle __________________

Mwxpl I would like to thank the MWXPl and all associated with this series, I am troubled by the complaints and ranting within this thread as I am puzzled as to what they think a trounament should be. I truley beleive that for the money we pay and it may seem to be a great deal, we recieve a great event. The event is well planned, we have a safe place to play on grass and what for me is the key to paintball, teams that are competative and able to cause everyone involved to grow and become a much greater paintball player. I really feel for the reffs during this last event, they had to reff more games in one day than planned and do this with only a 15 minute lunch break. I beleive that the reffs did the very best they could and sure mistakes are made and players played on but I also beleive that it was delt with and this is no different than any other event I have played in. It is so easy to place blame on others when we fail to meet our goals, however in life we must take responsibility for our own actions and come to grips with the fact that life is not fair or equal for all and that we must take this into account with all life joys and dissapointments. Let us not forget why we play, to play aginst other people who love the game as much as we do and in the end it is just a game. ๐

[QUOTE=Cronatic]You've declared a boycott on all MWXPL events due to the mistake of 1 or 2 referees in a single game in one event of the entire season?QUOTE]
did i say i was starting a boycott. I was talking about me personally. The reffs were rude and disrespectful towards me personally. Its not about the call. The call was more of a problem with that player that made the dirtiest run through i have ever seen. The reffs said they were confused and they admitted they pulled arm bands when they shouldnt have. It was more of the respect issue is why i dont wish to play another one. oh and the kid who said somehthing about the UX. Think before you comment. You have no idea what happened. We got screwed royaly. And i have never had a problem with the uxpl's reffs. Frank and nathaniel did an awesome job as well as all the addicts teams. __________________ SALT LAKE TENSION ADD US TO YOUR MYSPACE http://www.myspace.com/sltension Powerd By: Pegleg paintball 801 Paintball teams, stores/fields, and players SHOWING 801 love to Ballistic, Tombstone, Addicts and anyone else that lives and plays in the 801 boundries Together Everyone Achieves More ANDY, DICK, MICHAEL, JORDAN G, CODY P, COREY, AUSTIN, STEVE, COACH RANDY =BROTHERS IN ARMS I KILL FOR COACH PEDER Last edited by FrontPlaya04 : 10-21-2006 at 05:03 PM.
