last mwxpl yougn guns robert got pulled when he was not out and he could have shot 2 or 3 guys they were grabing the flag. and then we go talk to the refs about it and than the douchebag sais that he never pulled his armband and it just fell off and that roberto pulled it off wich was bullshit and all the other refs saw it and they said the ref pulled it and the ref just kept on being a bitch.

Alright Braden. We know your upset. But yelling and carrying on will not help. I have not very many posts of constructive criticism or the like. Furthermore a ref is NEVER to admit to a player he made a mistake. A ref is infalliable on the field. If he is right or wrong is academic. I have ref'd Paintball, minor league hockey, basketball and soccer. Any ref who has been trained will tell you the same thing. I was a head ref at the last UXPL. I told all my guys not to admit it to a player if they are wrong. For the very reason Goldberg stated. People will jump all over you for any call. People root for teams. If they feel the call went against them they bitch, just like here. But Ballistic has been on both sides of calls now. It sucks that it happened but it did. Move on and lets look ahead. Ballistic has an XPSL to get ready for. Worrying about the past will not help you in the future.

It's true, I've had refs admit they were wrong, and I thought that was cool of them to understand what they did wrong, and I left it at that, but when reffing tourneys, I will never admit to a play that I was wrong because not everyone is as forgiving as me, and i don't want everyone secong guessing all my calls

Ask chandler and the other guys from his team about this they will explain the UX experience.....

In every sport refs make bad calls, they know it, we know it and those calls dont change(Superbowl 05 perfect example) ......but they are human and that will never change "perfection is only for Jesus" and Jessica Alba...J/K

just MY opinion and that could be wrong too....

Know what?

Most of you guys are not qualified to really complain. Not many of you, not to say some of us posting have not, have ever ref'd. You're really not qualified to call in to light the ref's decision. I agree some bad calls have been made in the MWXPL. But until you are ready and willing to get shot up, take crap and stand in the weather for 10-12 hours with little respite and little comfort. You need to consider that they are human and need you to cut them some slack.

Frank, you have personally admited a mistake to me, (more than once I might add). C'mon man, I love ya, but at least be honest with yourself.

But I do agree with you for the most part. On the vast majority of calls refs should be infallible. But I must say that I feel irrevocable authority is incorrect when the call is this substantial and impactful.
This was a call that changed the outcome of the game, the semi-finals, the tournament, AND the overall season standings.
The severity of potential impact was great enough to warrant review and possibly reversion.

p.s. (to everyone) - please don't use the term "they" or "we" when referring to Ethan's comments. Ethan does, and should speak for and only for himself. No matter if I agree with him or not.

Most of the refs in question are not qualified to ref.

And I have reffed tournaments, on multiple occasions.

Not to mention the fact that an opinion expressed at a basic level of understanding and in good faith doesn't require qualification. These people are not stating fact, and thus do not acquire the burden of qualifying as an expert. The only burden upon them is that they are willing to reasonabley defend their opinion should it be disputed.

If opinions required qualifications, the vast majority of us would never speak.

Kyle, I am not saying I didnt make mistakes. I have, I admit that. I have done so reffing. But at the time I will not admit it to a player. It underminds all of your calls both future and past. Players always look for an angle. the "if you were wrong then. You're wrong now!" argument will persist.

Calls can be reversed. But that is to be made at the head and ultimate ref levels. The ref that feels he made a mistake should make the fact known to his field head. Then it can be discussed. But a call cannot be reversed after the armband is gone.

It sucks that the game changed for you. But you have been on both sides of the calls like I have, Sometimes your the bear and sometimes your the rabbit.

Frank is right, refs make mistakes just like players can make mistakes. I used to ref competitive league soccer. We never admitted to mistakes; at one game I reffed one of the coaches punched the other ref in face for what he thought was a bad call. But we never admitted to any bad calls. Bad calls are just part of the game, I've had what I felt were bad calls against my team, but it's something we just had to get over and keep playing.

Thats chandlers and James problem. All I am saying is profanity and accusations are not going to help.

As far as prizes owe'd. That is between the players, stores, sponsors or parents and James and chandler.
