I-84 Problems **** Soap Box Mode ON****
For seveal years recball players have been playing at the I-84 / Weber River area. Originially it was organized by DeRay from New Image and a few other players. Through the years many people have played there in harmony. This year I have recieved numerous complaints from players about the behavior of players. Rec Players often refered to this groups as the "Dye Kids" as well as various independant groups who use I-84 at any given time. The complaints are numerous and have come from Recball players about a group who go to the River and treat Rec players with disrespect. Rec Playes have complained of wiping, excessive overshooting, pretending to Referee to give away hiding spots, staying in games when shot, etc..... I have recieve first hand reports of vandalism of rec players cars, several fist fights, near fist fights, and generally Bad attitudes and treatment of Rec players at the I-84 Field. I have been silent on this matter until now. Hoping that eventually the Players involved would choose to make friends instead of making enemies, unfortunately this situation has deteriorated until now Rec players have no field to play on becasue the problems. A classical proverb "A few bad Apples spoil the whole cart" Most players at I-84 are good guys and I know "stuff happens" lets find a way to improve things for 2005. My 2005 advice to any Tournament Players who go to a Rec Field. 1) If you want to play touanment style join us in the UXPL. 2) Practice Thursday or Saturday nights at PB Addicts. 3) Find another Field to practice on instead of I-84. Shooting up Rec Players and making tournament paintball players look like poor sports. **** Soap Box Mode Off **** .. __________________

I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about, I havent played for a few months due to an injury. these guys used to be fairly cool, but it sounds like its gotten quite out of hand, I've witnessed a few "near fist fights" down there and people need to realize its just a game. If its more then a game to you, then you should be playing with people who feel the same about it and not ruining the sport for all the beginners who are just there to have a good time.

As cool as it would be to go play those kids and bonus ball and whipe and what not, that would give a bad image for the sport. I know from past experiences you just have to completely ignore those kids and if they are causing a problem make them leave and not invite them to come play again. If they would want to send them to addicts or adrenaland and they can play tournament players and see what it is like in return and hopefuly they will learn there lesson. But if they dont then we will cheat bonus ball and have our selves a little fist fight, then I am shure they will learn there lesson.

Well doing what they do back to them is just as bad as them doing it to others. We need to teach them a lesson without making ourselves look bad. If they arent whilling to listen then we will do it your way. And if they are being jerks about it then I vote for doing it your way. Let me know when you go down there me and some friends would be more then happy to come with ya.

Steve I know all these guys and most of them are good guys! Some of them are customers and I hesitate to make this issue public. The problem seems to be just a couple of them causing problems and the rest are just along for the ride. That said I have recieved MANY complaints from several dozen different players about the behavior on the field. I know there are some players who play with them and think they are "Cool", thats part of the problem . Instead of basic respect for all players the level of behavior at I-84 has become hostile according to the complaints I have been recieving from Rec Players. The Rec Players who have been using this area for years can no longer go their because of the atmosphere of hostility that has developed. This one group is not the only reason for the problems, I think the whole atsmosphere at I-84 has deteriorated. I dont think any of them use 801 so I doubt they will even be aware of this but I am just tired of getting complaints about them day after day and I needed somewhere to Vent my frustration 😠I have to fight the "Negative Perception" of paintball every day to feed my family, to provide games for all players(Rec & Tourney), to get business liscences, etc.. and a couple incidents from knuckle heads make my job much harder.. .. __________________

Gregg, There has always bee some tension at I-84, its an oulaw field after all, no chronos, no reffs, and a mix of players from newbies to Rec to torunament. The difference is that for the last several months I have been hearing "Well I wont go back there" from the Rec players. Usually its because of the behavior of this core group. I am also concerned that with the tempers that have flared eventually things will get out of hand and the police will be involved and that will be the end to I-84 playing. .. __________________

Nate, Tuby, Darkone, I understand that reaction but reacting badly IS the problem. That is exactly the attitude that has created problems is other players reacting to the situation. You overshoot me so I overshoot you, then your mad and shoot my truck so I am mad and take a swing at you. That is exactly what has happened at I-84 until only this one group even plays there and new commers are not welcome. The answer for Rec players to say NO to bad behaior, we won't play with you. .. __________________

How many of them are there? Let's send an equal amount if tournament players over there and play them and show them they are not all that.
