Rec Field in Ogden / Layton I believe that one of the things that is constraining paintball in Utah is a lack of good open play Rec Fields, particularly in the Ogden / Layton area but in Salt Lake as well.
I know there are a few Outlaw fields that people use, and thier back yards, mountain areas and what not. I beleive if there were a good recreational field with good facalities (Restroom, Water, Food, Shelter, Parking lot) that people would be willing to pay a reasonable price to play paintball there. If anyone has a good suggestion for property to develop such a field I would like to partner with them to make it happen. .. __________________

Need land Allen
I agree 110% finding the land is the #1 concern. I have been and will continue to search for a place to play __________________

Very true we have completely changed paintball in utah from rec ball to tournament style and leaving the rec ball players in the dust. It is like life you have to have more then one thing to make the world go round. Not all newbs wanna play tournament style and we arent giving them a oppurtunity to play any other style then tournament. It would be sweet to have a rec ball field since showdown is gone. Maybe it is just me but does it seem like ever since showdown is gone paintball has decreased.

I wish there is some way to have paintballers get some political clout in one of the counties along the wasatch front. That way we could get funding through a ZAP (Zoo, Arts, and Parks) tax to build a park.
I mean we have skateboard parks all over the place and some of them have been funded by a ZAP Tax. __________________

I agree, politicians think of paintball as Kids not voting adults hence they dont give us the time of day. The political scene is Utah is very incestuious. I wonder if any of Gov. Huntsmans kids play paintball ??? I suppose we should form a group and Lobby politicians for our sport, problem is that takes lots of time and some money... .. __________________

I would have to agree Allen.
There needs to be a Utah's Paintball Player Coalition. Then have county paintball coalitions. That way we could have local and state clout to help lawmakers change their opinion. The bad part is that it will take a lot of money and time for anything to be put together. I also believe that most adult players still play in the shadows and aren't very public about paintball. For example, the meeting at adrenaland. How many people said they would be there and never showed up? (I am one of them so I share in the blame). Also, There are only a select few in the Utah paintball scene that are publicly engaged in any effort to change the general perception of the sport. One of the most important steps that, I think, would help paintball move forward in to a better light publicly is to lose the political crap that has plagued Utah paintball in the past. __________________ I'm here to kick some *** and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of bubblegum.
