I-84 Flipside

I had a meeting today with Ken one of the Veteran players who is at I-84 most every weekend. He does not feel that things are as bad as have been reported to me. He is concerned about the complaints because he wants to grow the sport of paintball. He explained that most of the "regulars" try to help other players, even though there are occasional problems.

Ken has agreed to work to improve things at I-84. If someone has a complaint I will be giving them Ken's cell phone number.

Thanks Ken!!!

If there are others who would like to participate in this dialouge then PM or email me and I will put you in the loop.

..

HANOUS ACTIONS & ACCUISATIONS

Well, well isn't the sport of Paintball just going down the prevervial kraper, wiping, overshooting, being overshot, not walking out, and of course the ill mannered temper that flairs when this all comes to a blistering pimply head!!!

Numerous accusations have been made threw Allan by a unknown complainant, second hand at best the information that is being posted by him (Allan's position as a store owner personally not a good move, its a good way to loose business). I really don't doubt the transition of happenings into writing but should be only considered as here say.

I Play at Mile Marker, the River, or I-84 Field whatever you may call it pretty regularly; I also wear DYE brand clothing which would make me and those who I play with in the eyes of a random person who reads this post a "DYE KID". With those who intern goes to the field to play paintball an automatic enemy despite my true character and actions on the Paintball Field.

I personally take offence to the accusations that have been made, and more so the so-called "corrective actions" by those who call themselves “better”, to stoop to the "accused level of the "Dye Kids". It all just doesn't make to much sense to eat the dirt off floor when there is food on the table (yeah you can use that one 😉 ).
Unfortunately for those who have submitted "corrective actions" to this post, you may not know you are our friends who you play WITH when we go to multiple Salt Lake fields. Sorry guys hopefully there are no hard feelings; we really enjoy playing with you when the time permits.

These accusations that have been made are false I can vouch for myself personally as a "Dye Kid" that I have partaken in many of games at the river, and yes tempers flair, cars get shot (because they park next to the fence, not cause it was on purpose not by a "Dye Kid" at least, and when it happens it would never be shot on purpose mind you). As far as fist fights, I have never seen anyone leave the field without a solution to the situation figured out. I do recall a individuals car fender being punched in, I myself collected the group as a whole and we discussed the situation and if there was any witnesses, when the gentleman left he pulled me aside and informed me that right after the group discussion a young man confessed and arranged to repair the dent. The Signs at the Mile Marker are the main focus of target practice at times for some individuals, and a solution to that has not been decided but the trash issues at times have been taken care of by the “Dye Kids” loading their vehicles with garbage bags full of shit left down there by those who don’t bother to clean up after themselves.

One of the biggest beefs with this post about the “Dye Kids” is that the fact that it is merely hear say and nothing more till the actual person(s) decides to speak his or hers frustrations. The fact that Allan you are posting this is not understood by me, since I believe after discussions with others who play at the river Allan you don’t hardly every come down to see the events unfold and I personally have only seen you there twice please explain that to me.

The true, honest, simple, factual evidence is only shown at the field when you see the “Dye Kids” at the river when they are not playing they are helping newbie’s and others fit in, fixing there markers when they break, suggestions on how to play, chronoing their guns, making and dividing people into equal teams, and one particular individuals company is supplying them with low cost Air fills, Paint, and spare parts when they need it. When they are out playing there is a large amount of skill with these young men and some day they could do good things for paintball in Utah just like other teams from our state have done.

For those of you who would really like to know the names of the “Dye Kids” are Chris, Bridget, Tom, Ken, Brad, Caasey, Alex, Kellen, John, Jeff, Atheia, Steve, my name is Brandon and have been playing at the river for 4 years now, I really do hope this helps solidify the untactful accusations that have been made toward me and my friends, if any of you would like to talk about this in person feel free to look for me at the river. I wear a black and red Dye Hybrid Jersey and Pant, Red mask and I shoot a ANS GX3-E, with a Halo.

wow a response!!!!!!! I am glad that one of you "dye kids" has spoken up.

However are you really a "Dye Kid" or are you acting as a liazon to them? you say that in the eyes of a random person you you are an automatic enemy, because you are wearing Dye products.

Honestly I am glad that you take offence to these "accusations". The best way to fix a problem is to confront it head on. I had pretty much given up on your "group" giving a rebuttal to this.

Its great that you guys are, from the sounds of it, organizing the I-84 field, fixing guns, and helping noobies improve their game. Thats what this sport needs to continue improving and recruiting new players.

I am sure that Allen will have a lot to say, but I think the people that were complaining, were probally afraid of getting into a confrontation with a group thats obviously got some flaring tempers. I also assume that the kid that punched in the fender was an example of a flaring temper. If thats so, then I believe that Allen was trying to "step up to the plate". He is after all a "somebody" in OUR paintball community.

Somewhere in between what HAS been said, and what YOU have replied with is the TRUTH. I just hope that its all figured out so that we, as a paintball COMMUNITY can move foward TOGETHER!!

I anxiously await Allen's reply to this

1 Yes Wileyc143 you can say that yes I'm a "Dye Kid" and those who i do hang out with on and off the field are. I say that I'm a "Automatic Enemy" because all they are identifying us as are the kids who were Dye clothes, I feel thats unfair cause I know of a few people who play down there wear Dye clothes and have no real connection to us at all. I would hate for someone to come in and play anxsit against them when they are not the ones that are being blamed...

2 Wiley143 yeah this is one thing I dont understand about the whole post, the young man who punch the car has no connection with us and after all it was wrong what he did but he voiced his appoligy and arranged for the repair. There for it was just that a flaired temper that cooled down and realized his mistake, after all we are all human in some form or fashion.

3 My self as well in both above mentioned areas, thanks for your outside comments and not being one to just come in a lay blame or come to a hasty conclution.

👍

I completely agree about the misconception of being called a bad guy for wearing the DYE gear. Hell, half of my gear is dye gear.
I understand that, I haven't ever been there, but I interepted this place to be woodsball, which is generally dominated by less experienced players. I believe that a misconception was developed that tournament ballers were just ripping the stickballers. I mean honestly it is a different game.

I am glad that everyone is approching this now with an open mind, I can see a thread such as this one to quickly get out of control.

Yeah totally understand what you are saying, the setup at the river is a woods ball area with what I would say a open speed ball area. It is defineately not XPPL or Air Ball field by no means, the speedball area is in the middle of the woods ball fields it is more or less built around it. The odd enough part about it is we do play many woods ball fashion games which endup more or less harmless at all, the speed ball games are that speed ball games and everyone agrees on what to play and the division of the teams. However when the game is over and done with someone got shot twice, or someone thought someone has wiped a shot off unfortuneately there are people out there that consider cheating as fair game and with new guns out the rate of fires make double hits more of a occurance and forces players to use self control. It really boils down to people that just go with the flow and complain when they leave that it wasn't what they really wanted to do. My only solution for that is speak up, if it isn't what they want we need input to please most everyone all the time.

I'm not going to take sides now that I have heard both sides of the story. I dont bielive Allen would say something that he didnt have solid evidence to back up what he said. We will have to see what happens in 05 at this field.
