I-84 Complaints

I personally haven't even been to the I-84 field, but it sounds as if the "locals" that are being abused need to get together and maybe find either another place to play, or do like you said Allen, and refuse to play with them at all.
When I play with noobs, I always turn my game down, and not be quite so brutal. Thats making it a fun experience for a new guy thats just getting started in paintball. Thats sportmanship, it seems that there is becoming a real lack of that anymore.

Whats sad is that until just a couple of years ago SPORTSMANSHIP was one of the biggest most key parts of paintball. We need to get that back, and help the noobs become better players so we can rip them and not feel bad! hehe

sorry for ranting, its just really frustrating.

well i don't know if my opinion matters to anyone but here it goes. You probly won't do this Allen but i say post names. Inform everone of who these kids are. No one likes bad publicity i know i wouldn't like to be labeled as a disrespectful player publicly. maybe thats what its going to take. If they are on a team and being sponsored their team captains, teammates, sponsors and maybe even parents will see what is happening and ask them to either shape up or drop them. Anywho my .02 cents and sorry if i offend anybody

who owns the feild? Someone needs to talk to the owner about these kids and get them kicked off the feild.

The state of utah. It is not a owned running field.

Just head down to the airport in provo, and you'll get some good competition both tourney and rec. But it's without all of the "knuckleheads". Cuz i always played there over the summer w/ streamline, and i had the funnest time paintballing there than i ever have before. So that's just my .02 cents.

I'd love to come down to provo, but there's quite some distance between Ogden and Provo, I-84 is one of the only fields we have that we can legally play on, thats why everyone goes there. All the noobs are going to start playing in their backyards if these guys dont start playing fair.

they are there almost every saturday morning. They all wear DYE everything. you'll know them if you see them.

I know the “Dye kids” personal, in fact I play with them a lot. So I am very disappointed to here of some radical hate towards them. When I play with them I do not see any wiping as you described Allen, every time I have shot them they go out. As far as overshooting, they do have dm5 and dm4 so they shoot a lot of paint and when you get hit is not like one shoot its like 3 or 4 which they should not do, and I look down on that every time I see it and say something to them when they do it. As far as cars getting shot I don’t not see anyone deliberately shooting cars, my car has been hit several times down there when I use to park by the fence, now I park up by the freeway. I have never seen any fights down there physical or verbal but have heard story from them, of them getting in to it with so other players down there. I’ve played at the River for 2 years and hope to still be playing there for another, I hope that people will continue to play down there and don’t let a few bad experiences stop them form playing paintball I love the sports so much, it would kill me to hear someone stop playing because of this. I will personal talk to all the “Dye Kids” about this situation and see if we working together can solve this.

They do use 801 paintball forums, so im sure that they are a where of this situation.

I'm glad that they use the 801 forums. I hope that they see this post and it does motivate them to change. It would be even bigger of them to sack up and respond themselves to this post.

Personally, if I knew people were talking about me, my attitude, or me cheating, I would be sure to respond, unless its all true?

Theres some food for thought.

Thanks for posting openly on this subject.

I dont know all of them peronally. I know some of the I-84 regulars like Ken & his boys and they are great guys. From what I have been told there are numerous individuals who help players and are responsible for cleaning up the area. To those players I say Bravo and Thanks! 🙂

My comments are not in any way personal, nor are they aimed at "All Players at I-84". The complains I have recieved are about a select few players and thier behavior.

My concern is about the perception of the I-84 field and about the sport of paintball.

I have simply written what has been told to me by numerous REC players about thier experience at I-84. I am sure I will get some hate mail for taking a stand (I already have), so be it.

I think allot of it comes down to a simple axiom. The crew of guys who play at I-84 are touanment players and they play tournament style paintball, as in very agressive.

The REC guys who come expect a different way of playing and a different attitude.

The two don't mix well, and the Rec players are walking away feeling abused.

I-84 has historically been a Rec Ball field, perhaps that is changing.

My suggestion is simple if you want to play tournament style, great! Come to the UXPL events, Come to Team practices, go play Thursdays at Addicts.

If the shoe fits wear it ....
If it doesn't fit then it ain't your shoe.
