PSP "feeder" event

I dont normaly comment on the reffing and running of local events. But the Velocity league leaves A LOT to be desired. The team I supported was eliminated before the finals. But we stayed to watch. First. There were prizes last event for first. But NONE this event? Was that made clear to the participants? Would people spend 150+ dollars to get nothing? I dont know a lot of teams that would. Second, The PSP feeder events run on PSP rules. Not whatever the hell rules the event sponsors feel they want to enforce. They did not nor do they know the rules as well as the should. Crowd participation is a keystone of the PSP. The whole "one coach, one voice" thing was crap. They allowed some "dirty" hangs and penalized other teams for it. The refs with one exception were horrible. I only saw the gentleman from The Vanilla Weasles going in to check anyone. The Ultimate ref did little to keep the games under control.

I dont know if I would allow my son to play next time. The event seems to only want to make money and reward the field sponsored teams only. Overall I say that event is a black mark for PSP.

not possitive on the 3rd and 4th could be reversed

I agree with the above poster. This event did leave much to be desired. What I want to rant about this event, is the quality of the reffing. I know bad calls are made, and you go on, but I do not understand why there had to be consitent bad calls with this event. Bad calls were not uncommon this event. One of the things that irritated me was when a ref called one of our players clean after a guy did a run through, the ref never ever wiped the numerous hits off of our player. While our player was trying to explain to the ref why he had to wipe him clean, a player continued to run up the field and shoot him. Refs also need to learn to not push players out of their bunkers... This did not happen with my team or I, I just saw it occur numerous times with other teams. Also, the refs also need to learn to not be so penalty happy. One of our players got a penalty for not copperating with a ref. Now this is perfectly fine, IF the player is NOT copperating with him. Our player was allowing the ref the check him, but apparently thats not copperating with the refs. My last statement is, this may have been a velocity tournament, but it was PSP format. Please follow the fundamental rules that is incorparated with the PSP. This tournament series shows potential, but they need to do some serious work with their organization, and refs.

i am just currious why i got pulled for "not moving with the flag" Whats that about? can someone show me that in the rule book?

yeah that was truely rediculous. A bunch of freaking hicks that dont know what they are doing (in my opinion). Do they even play paintball? All the players and teams were pretty cool. everyone just wanted to play paintball. but the refs/staff just screwed it up (in my opinion). How can you expect to run a PSP affiliate WITHOUT a PSP rulebook on-hand? i mean, come on.

Stupid team Way of the Dragon trying to put a ringer (possibly pro) on their team.

What I know about pulling the flag is that you need to keep forward progress. If you stop or go backwards you are then pulled. You could be walking forward slowly and be fine but as soon as you stop making forward progress you are pulled.
