While I appreciate the humor in this thread, let's get back on track, shall we?
We as a paintball community need to make sure that we are doing our part to educate the public on our sport. Yes, it can be dangerous---IF you don't follow the basic safety rules. I offer free safety classes to anyone and everyone--I don't care where they bought their markers. I have so many boyscout parents who come in to get their kids CO2 filled and tell me, "Yeah, the scout troop is going camping and they're all taking their paintball gear with them." I go over safety with the parent and strongly urge them to bring their kids in for the safety training, and then I encourage them to tell the rest of the parents in the troop to bring their kids in as well. I NEVER charge to educate, and I encourage all of the local shops and fields to do the same. I will not sell a marker without going over the safety and upkeep of that marker with not only the person who will be using the marker, but their parents as well. The key to safety is EDUCATION!!!! And it is the responsibilty of ALL players, field owners, store owners, and parents to make sure that we pass along the information. Parents need to understand the consequences if the rules aren't followed, instead of just blaming the industry as a whole because they failed to take safety seriously. Sadly, even the most experience players will show up at my field without the basic safety devices---They try to walk around with no barrel cover, then tell me "oh, there's no paint in it" or take the barrel off instead of putting a cover on it (you can still shoot out an eye, with or without the barrel!) (you know who you are, and you know how I feel about it!!!!) or they walk into the Chrono with no mask on, etc. The new and inexperienced players see the "tourny" guys not following the rules, so they think they don't have to. If we as a group want our sport to become more main stream and publicly accepted, it is up to us to EDUCATE!!!!! Don't act like you are above the rules, and don't make fun of some kid who doesn't know the rules! EDUCATE!!!!! End of rant.

And make the markers look like real guns....the industry spent years trying to get away from this and as cool (simulation markers) as some people may think they are its bad for the sport. Its not war, shouldn't be made to look like war...period. Derek __________________

im not sure they are trying to simulate war because obvioulsy war(according to the movie JarHead) is nothing more than digging holes and "pleasuring oneself be means of touching themselves."

You are correct Derek, it is not a real war. But we as players play like it is. We as (all) players promote it when we ask how many "kills" did you get. In the woods or in the blow up bukers, its about shooting the other team to get to the flag. When a player is out he goes to the "dead" box. "Dead" players can't talk. We call our markers "guns" and tick them out to make the shoot more like real guns. Weather we dress in digi cam or slider pants we look like we are ready to go into battle. Just like when we were little kids running around shooting each other with finger guns... we now do it will liquid bullets. We pretend to be warriors. It's a rush, a thrill to hunt in the woods or run n gun on a grass field. What a sport!! The real key here is like PBmom said we have to educate the player and the public. Kids and adults need to play safe. I see players take their maskes off all the time on the field. How many times have we seen a player with out a plug or sock on the barrel. Fields need to enforce this rule, have a no tollerance policy on maskes and socks or plugs, and carry a few in the pro shop. We should all carry a few extra give away plugs or socks for that player who forgets or losses theirs it's way cheaper than a glass eye. Think Saftey First. Play hard, have fun and be safe. We should make a paintball gun that works like a bazooka some one can load the giant paintball in the back, tap the person on the head and BOOM! Die die die die die die. wow pretend war is fun!

This is one of the things I'm talking about, if you can't grow up and take the subject seriously, stay off the thread!!! The adults in this forum are trying to have an adult discussion about ways to educate the public and keep people from getting hurt. If you don't have anything to contribute to that, then don't post. Go post garbage in a garbage friendly thread, not here.
