UXPL September Event

I would like some input into from players into what they would like to see in the next UXPL event. I am targeting Sept 25th or possibly September 18th.

The location is still up the in air we may be at Fairmont but if not I have a Layton area location for sure.

1) Would players prefer a 7-man format ? or stay 5-man?

2) Would players prefer a higher entry fee and larger payout?
or Lower entry fee and less payout?
Or its about right?

3) Other suggestions ?

Thanks as always I remain in your service,
Paintball is about the players not the politics.

My vote goes to a 7-man devision. I would keep the $30 per player entry and the same payout. Just my opinion.

Well Allen you know that we are game for what ever.

I would like to play with seven this next go round but 5 is good too just as long as I can play.

As for a higher entrance fee. That works too. Although I would hate to not see a couple of teams there due to funds and not being able to get 7 players. Personally I would like to play for a bigger payout but like I said before I just like to play and have a good time. Heck it's just a game right?

See you on the field.

sept.

I'd like to see a 7 man, and I think the payout is ok as it is. the reason I dont do many tourney's is because I cant afford to.
keep up the good work.
where in layton is available? its closer for us, but fairmont isnt too far.

Having never been to a UXPL event (or really any paintball tournament), I may not have the greatest insight on the matter, but that's never stopped me from running my mouth anyway. But before I do, what is the current payout scheme, and what's the entry fee (I read $30 below, is that the whole team, or per person?) for these events?

I personally think that the last uxpl wasnt that great of a turnout I believe not enough people knew about it. Price is very cheap those who expected more for prizes well there just wasnt enough teams or enough funds to pay for bigger prizes. I am not shure what paint prices are but I think the mwxpl has great prices $55 a case and around $45 a player I think that is perfect. You can get resonable prizes but a good turnout. I think we all need to let other teams know about this one so we can get more teams because the way I see it more team=more money=better prizes.

Good input

Thanks for the input so far.

Nate the $30 is per head so for 5 man team is $150 or 7 man would be $210.

As far as letting people know we mail over 2300 letters and posted on the website and here for over 2 months so I am not sure what else to do to "get the word out"

Actually the MWXPL is $50 or late $64 per head so they are allot more for entry and thier payout is b stock Autocokers for 1st.

Payout is somewhat of a Mystery there is no "set formula"
Most promoters just use exaggerated retails numbers for the prizes but I feel that is a bit misleading.

In general I have done payout that is more than the winning team paid in for Entry and Paint. So for the last UXPL event it entry was $150 and the payout was $300. That was probably a bit light but there was only 11 teams so it seemed to work ok.

But Tubyboy is right more teams = more payout at least in my view.

The other entry issue I was conisdering was to scale the entry per division so that Rookie (Intermediate) and Rookie (Advanced) and Nov/Am etc were different enteries and different payouts.

Well it is kinda personal preference. I like large prizes, and I am pretty spoiled I have to admit it. I can afford the expensive tourneys. But not all are spoiled so we need to make it good for everyone. Can you tell me how much paint is for this event because most events people spend around $150-$200 for local tourneys. Like Allen said there was only 11 teams for 2 divisions dont expect much payout for that. So if you guys want some sick prizes sign up and lets get the uxpl rollin.

Plain City

I was so excited that there was going to be a tournament in Plain City, like right close to me, and then it happend............WORK. I was so sad.
but I think having different payout for each level of play sounds like a good idea.

Uxpl

Allen, one thing that I was just thinking about, I like your locations for the UXPL events, they are always right in the eye of the public which helps alot to promote the sport. the WMXPL was back where you couldnt see it and you had to pay to park there, didnt like that.
I love being able to promote the sport, people can just be walking along, see it, and say, wow! that looks fun!

Keep up the good work!
