Thanks Steve that is one of my goals is to have events in public view. Not just for the players but for the community as well to promote the sport.

I thought more players would care about promoting the sport but ............... <sigh> πŸ™

team occult will support tell the end

Allen,

Any tournament that we can get our guys to well go! Vernal is a little to far for us South Jordans. You should put a tournament in my back yard so I can play for sure!
Prizes to me don't mean much. I am just happy getting the recognition of placing. I was always a fan of trophies and a new car and maybe a small island somewhere but whatever.

I like the 5 man, but wouldn't mind trying 7 man. The entrance fees are nice. This is a local tourney, with mostly local and some national sponsors, so the payout will not be that big unless there are a lot of teams that play and we can make the UXPL as big as some of the larger tournaments.

Allen here are a few thoughts:
I like 5-man better because it is easier to get a team together. For instance Streamline was able to field two teams. The more teams the better right??? Plus many of the teams are trying to save money for the 7-man MWXPL events, and some for Vegas too, so the smaller teams and low prices make it more enticing to play.

Also I like the pricing and prizes how they were. Our prizes were great, especially for what be payed to play. I also liked the format you ran at the last event, kinda the traditional/x-ball hybrid. It was fun.

The divisions are good too. It lets rookie teams with tourny experiance play others with the same amount, and it also give the brand new teams with little to no battle time a chance to get their feet wet without being too overwhelmed. Also another reason for the smaller teams, and the lesser pricing, no new team is going to want to invest a ton of money into something they dont even know what to expect from.

Anyway, just some thoughts. Oh...and I liked the Fairmont park, nice grass, lots of shade, good location, etc...

Hey Allen,

I personally played in the last UXPL event and thought that it was a blast. The price and the pay out were just fine, 30$ a player is not that bad. I would whoever like to see a 7 man event for a change of things, I don’t think teams will have that hard of a time getting 2 more players to play in a tournament. There are a lot of players in Utah, that would like to play in tournaments that I know. As for location I think Layton would not be a bad place its kind of half way between Ogden and Slat Lake City. And also thanks for holding an awesome local tournament. πŸ™‚

I like 7-man better, I think that you should charge a lot and make way good prizes......or charge way cheap like 10 bucks. Because I think if you're paying medium and recieving medium prizes people will have a medium fun time, or feel like they're paying too much for too little. I would like to see the way cheap entrance for the UXPL with cheap prizes. Then I think a lot of teams, friends, and families would figure, "it's an inexpensive, fun tournament let's just go." It would also be cool to just have one division so we can play all of the teams, but that's not always possible
