freedom is simply the ability to live with the consequences of your actions.

I believe that it is not life that extends past mortal death but it is your spirit that extends past mortal death.

oh i forgot to tel you how a gay marriage hurts me.....

Well, 25 years ago, persay, if gay marriage was legal, sure it wasn't, but still gay people existed. john and steve, or mary and susie hooked it up, therefore, not being able to produce offspring. Come to find out, that offspring, would have been in my age group, therefore, providing me with some friends, possibly a wife, and what not. But, as I already know, ya'll (well at least whoever decides to take it that way, (gotta clarify this crap so no one walks off offended)(wow a triple parentheses))) will take this as hogwash.

Your first argument is bunk. That goes to upbringing. I was raised in downtown Philly. I know a lot of unsavory people and was offered the wrong path on many occasions. But my parents raised me to believe in myself. Therefore I did not follow that path. I did go to school and play sports with a lot of people who did.

Secondly,This is just outlandish. You believe in god and his infinate wisdoms. If a person is gay, don't you think that they were never meant to have a child? Boo hoo, you didn't have a friend or a wife from gay parents. that is the weakest argument I have heard so far. that doesnt hurt you. live and let live. I believe we are judged by a higher authority. If you do also let him be the final word.

No. I don't believe that anyone is born gay. I believe that people choose to be gay through many actions throughout one's life. God, gives people weaknesses, but these weaknesses are for them to overcome. If the weakness is accepted, it is basically a selfish act. (can't wait to hear what ya'll have for that, debating is great)

Oh, thank goodness we are judged by a higher authority. May be a week argument, yet still better than any argument for it. So far I have heard well, if they love each other, then it should be allowed. Ok, so what about a man marrying his dog, or something sick and twisted like that. After all, the dog is mans best friend...

And blind faith, I don't follow by blind faith.

Faith, by definition is blind.

As for the church being opposed to gays and gay marriage they have proven they will bend to whats publicly acceptable. At one time polyagymy was acceptable, and the church opposed blacks holding the priesthood until they recieved pressure from outside sources and then wow!!! A vision and then it was ok and oh we shouldn't do that anymore...please.

There is no shortage of people and the earth is over populated. Nobody is harming you by not producing children. Your defense on that point is flimsy at best. You are grasping at straws at this point. Gays throughout history have been a minority certainly not going to dent the population especially when you have Mormon families having 8 kids they cannot afford...

It's agreed that faith is the evidence of things not seen, however, faith is eventually replaced with knowledge. Faith also requires some things such as: information, belief, a hope or desire, action, and the information that was provided to be true.

Hence, as I progress through life, believing various principles that are taught from any source, I hope for the best and find out if whatever it was is true. Finally bringing me the knowlege of said subject.

Why do people follow the crowds, sounds like it may be by blind faith. If other's do it, so can I. If the government says its ok, I can do it.

Kinda awkward that the original topic has lead to (a "bash" on Krispy.....) this other random discussion, I mean......

not a bash

Not a bash...you just dont like hole being shot in to your theories. You so close minded you cannot even evaluate the other side.

The bottom line is Krispy you have no more right to try and force your will (that they don't marry) then we do to try and stop you from following your religion.

The church states that we should treat everyone as a brother and sisterregardless of how they act and what they do. If everyone in the church followed this we wouldn't even be having this arguement, however some chose to follow satans path and force people to do as they see right.

I dont take any orf this personal. i have met you twice (i think) and from my memory you seem like a very decent stand up guy. And while i find some of you theories a tad fanatical for my tastes i dont wish you to be bashed at all. I would like for you to open your mind and try to see both sides but thats up to you and no one else can make you do that.

Something to think about.

Krispy brought up a point I never considered before... If they love each other, why stop them. Farmboy loves his sheep, and they love him... but that's illegal. Just made me think. And yeah, I'm agianst letting farmers rape their sheep. Just to make sure that's out there.

I never said I was for the gay marriage initiative. I am opposed to states and municipalities creating laws that trup any federal law. Otherwise we will have self rightous towns of religious zealots outlawing homosexuals. Do not believe me? Rhea county did it in tennessee in 2000. It was a backlash from the first gay marriage go around. That is a much stronger argument than your marrying dogs bullshit. You do not like the fact that someone can be opposed to your way of thinking. I do not think I have the right to tell anyone how they should morally live their lives. Furthermore it is a proven fact that the homosexual mind is wired different. Also chromosomes get screwy at times.
