Gun Cheats.......

I've been doing lots of reading since i have been in Afghanistan, and it seems that more often than not there is something talking about gun cheats! I have seen lots of bouncing and ghosting guns, but haven't been graced in seeing the coded boards or the ramping. whats everyones opinions on this subject, and do you have any particular stories to tell?

I think that if you have to have a ramp or cheater board, you suck more than you want to admit and are trying to compensate for your lack of skill and experience. I have seen and hope to some day acheive the abilitiy to the walk or, at the rate some people finger the trigger, run it at a high rof. It takes a lot of practice and effort to become good. Cheating is like arguing on the internet which is like the special olympics, "even if you when you are still a retard." (no insult meant to the S.O.)

i dont have a problem with cheating at all and I get a lot of crap aboutit lol, if you look at almost every sport, people cheat, thats just the way it is. Yeah sometimes they ge caught sometimes they dont. I dont like the velocity ramp cheating, but other than that who cares, alot of guns cheat and you dont even know it. LIke almost any e-cocker for example, if you take all the bounce out of it, you wont be able to shoot much faster than a mech cocker. But thast just my view of everything

I applaud your honesty nate. I must agree that velocity ramping is the stupidest thing that I have heard of to date. That has the potential to hurt someone very badly.
The problem that I have, is that it truly takes the sport out of the game. Recreational play is one thing, but tournament play? I know that everyone wants to be the next Rocky Cagnoni, or Chris Lasoya, but at what price is that person willing to pay?
I don't think that it will ever go away, cheating that is, its in our nature as human beings to try and "beat the system" in some form or other. However I do believe that the Major circuits are going to put up some stiff penalties if you, or a team member is caught.
What would you expect if you or a team member got caught with a cheater gun??
In my personal opinion depending on what kind of gun cheat was installed, whether it be a bounce, which can be done with complete innoncence, or a ramping board, obviously intentional, suspensions or disqualifications for the team would be involved. this would put out a very hard message to the teams what WILL happen if you get caught.
Like the wiping 1 for 1 they do. Or the 1 for 1 for playing on. its reduced the amount of cheating in the circuits. It will obviously always be going on, but will not be a HUGE problem like it is becoming. what do you guys think??

Usually there are disqulifications. I belive if the refs suspect you gun is cheating, say bps ramping for during the game, after the game they can put it through the robot and the team is disqulified, that happend at the nppl denver event with 665 almost evil.
However some leages almost encourage gun cheats, The nxl doesnt worr about it as long as there is no ramping velocity. You can buy a NXL chips for dm4 boardsand was boards, that doubles rof at 12 bos, or you have 123 full auto (1st three shots semi-auto and after that full-auto at 15bps)

ya, I know that there is the ability to get cheater boards everywhere. thats not my point here. What, if anything would put a cap on a problem thats causing major problems, and will only get worse if gone unchecked?

90% of guns in nxl have ramp boards. They are considering just capping guns at 15bps and letting them go full auto.

doesn't this leave the ASTM agreement?
although it does seem like an alternative. I don't think that this is that good of an idea personally. I mean whats going to happen when a unexperienced player is able to legally use this? we thought that over-shooting was bad now hehe.

i dont know where i stand on this personaly. I think its fun to beable to shoot real fast. but then again i hate getting shot off break easily. so as far as the pro tourneys go i think that maybe before the tourney or something they need to have people come and "register" their guns or something and check for bounces then. and so if they change the settings at the tourney it should be pretty obvious.
