reball.... =cheater ball... a
solution... play fair... play for fun Also if you are playing and doing team practices would you want to have your teammates cheat while practicing, cus if they know they got hit and keep playing on, they arent going to learn from it. I think reball is a very good idea and a great way to get more people into the sport that may not want to deal with the "dirty" side of paintball. __________________

PMP Get yourself a mule, stand behind it and and let it kick you square in the family jewels. That is the pain you are going to enjoy is like opening a field. If after you recover you still want to open a field, then have someone slam your head in a car door until you don't want too. The only way I would open a field is if I owned the land free and clear, it had no developed value, I had no partners, and had at least $100,000 cash to use/lose. You may think I am being mean, But I am tring to warn you, you should be worried, you should be scared , you are fighting an up hill battle with little chance of financial success. Nuff said. Best of luck to you. | |||||

I agree with the risk, but I'm not sure if I have said it before this would be more than a paintball field, we have a couple other already successful business (that are not paintball oriented) including a large company head quartered out of Dallas, wanting to team up with us for what we are calling an "Entertainment Complex", thanks for all the advise and please keep suggestions coming.

Yell at me if I am wrong but it sounds like you want to do something like Hollywood Sports Park. Give people a few different things to do and reasons to go there. I think it is a good idea but the start up would be very high.

I had never heard of Hollywood Sports Park before, so I just googled it and it looks awesome, we are thinking of having something like that maybe just not as extreme.

Field I think if your going to go with reball there are a few things that you need to incorporate in your buisness.
First off, in regards to the cheating factor, its going to happen. People will be constantly pissed of cuz they "hit that guy" and he didn't leave. You might as well make it policy that if someone cheats on you, you can punch them in the face. That might solve it. Option B is to stick your head in the sand and say it won't happen, cuz it will. It will continue to happen until ballers get smart and realize that cheating doesn't gett you any better. I personally would play dispite all the cheating because it is just that much more practice to have to shoot them 10 times 🙂 . All in all, after all that, im in favor of Reball. Second, have you shot yourself with reball yet? If not, you should! I don't think that people are going to be happy taking 10 reballs to the back even at 250 fps. If you play at a 250+ your going to have people bitching and moaning, either that your your going to have to make rules like no-bunkering. Which completely take away from the game. Or, you'll have to play at lower speeds, which also sucks cuz then you get sloppy as a player. ??? Questions questions. Maybe I changed my mind. Maybe Im in favor of normal paint? Third, I think the thing that would attract me to a field with reball is being able to do cheap drills. If you could run a drill area for around 5-15 dollars, where people could do snap shooting, running and shooting, laning, and that kind of stuff, I would show up 2-3 times a week! But hey, thats just me. Then have an outdoor area where people could incorporate the stuff they practiced into real games using reasonably priced paint, which they purchased from you 😉 . This is my little dream. If I only had the cash! (Im in favor of both reball and paint) In my oppinion, which may not count for much, I think that the few fields that are around already are sufficient for the paintball crowd in Utah. What we need is a place where we can push our skills. Utah ballers spend to much time playing pick up games. With the creation of a lost cost practice facility, I think that Utah has the capability to turn out some great players. I wanna see it happen! I for one am pulling for you. But, sadly, I must jump on the band waggon with all the other people that are on this thread. If your planning on running the standard paintball field, don't bother. A lot of the players have already established loyalties to fields in their area, and unless you have something very special to offer, we won't abandon those fields that have helped us out in the past. __________________

This is why reball appeals to us, is its a cheap way for teams to get practice, games are non-stop, and it doesen't eliminate the need for us to use places like Addicts and Velocity. We figure we will all still need to use and practice with paintballs, but why not have a place were we can go practice drills, snap shooting even play a few games with reballs. It will also be a cheap way to get exposure to new players. We relize like real paintball there will be cheaters, but we would like to find ways to cut down on the cheating such as an if you get caught by one of the refs you get 3 strikes, 1st strike you set out a game 2nd strike you set out for 3 games, 3rd strike and you will be kicked of the field with no refund. We are not looking to get rich off off of our idea, but more looking to improve the sport in the community, next weekend we are flying to meet with a large reball field owner in Tennessee to see how he runs things and to get some pointers and ideas. Once again thanks for the input and please keep the ideas coming.

If you set up a reball field, I bet alot of teams would want to hold a practice there. Reballs are not a replacement to paintballs, but they are an economical tool for practicing paintball skills with your team. I would still want to use paintballs when playing real games against opponents.

you would have to have a seperate field just for the reballs. cause if you try to use them on the regular field the reballs will get covered with paint and would not be usable. If the field was maybe half the size as a normal field with only a few bunkers. It would have to be clear of paint and really clean. and maybe if the floor would slope really slightly so the reballs would gather in one spot or a couple different spots on the field for easy refilling.
