i have been using my pump the last couple of times i've been to addicts, i bought a membership, shoot less than 200 balls all night, a bag can last me three practices. granted, i still need to use my regular gun every now and then, but i don't need to be shooting that much, there are tons of things you can work on with hardly any paint at all...

Just to get a fair comparison, I took one field from each of the 50 states and did a cost comparison. I used pbreview.com, and started with the field with the most reviews. If they didn't have the info posted on their website, I went to the field with the 2nd most reviews and so on. I did not discriminate between indoor or outdoor fields unless it was obvious from the name alone. I took entry, the price per case, and the price per 500 bag if it was available. In a couple of cases I have the cost for all day air, but only because it was such an odd number, or it was so outrageous. To prove my point, I'm posting the pricing I found.

Alabama--$10 entry, $75/case, $21/500
Alaska--no info available
Arizona--$20 entry, $59/case, $20/500
Arkansas--$10 entry, $48 to $65 per case
California--$25 entry, 55.85/case, $26.05/500
Colorado--$20 entry,$65/case (white box), $20/500 (white box)
Connecticut--$15 entry, $59.99 to $79.99/case
Deleware--$10 entry, $45/case
Florida--$10.95 entry, $120/case
Georgia--$10 entry, $80/case, $25/500
Hawaii--$15 entry, $45/case, $15/500
Idaho--$10 entry, $60/case (white box)
Illinois--$18 entry, $90/case, $25/500
Indiana--$10 entry, $80/case, $25/500
Iowa--$10 entry, $50/case, $20/500
Kansas--$10 entry, $45 to $65/case
Kentucky--$10 entry, $56/case
Louisiana--$6 entry, $75/case
Maine--$10 entry, $80/case
Maryland--$15 entry, $32-$80/case
Massachussets--$25 entry, $60/case, $20/500
Michighan--$25 entry, $49.99 to $69.99/case
Minnesota--$12 entry, $70/case (white box), $90/case (prem. grade)
Mississippi--$10 entry, $80/case
Missouri--$15 entry (4 hours), $30/500
Montana--$10 entry, $50/case, $20/500
Nebraska--$10 entry, $60 to $70/case
Nevada--$10 entry, $48.26/case (white box), $61.13/case (prem.)
New Hampshire--$10 entry, $99/case, $25/500
New Jersey--$20 entry, $85/case, $25/500
New Mexico--$6 1/2 day, $11 all day, $60/case, $20/500
New York--$20 entry, $70/case, $25/500
North Carolina--$10 entry, $80/case, $20/500
North Dakota--$5 entry, $68/case, $17/500
Ohio--$12 entry, $100/case
Oklahoma--$5 entry, $75/case, $12.50 All Day Air (ADA)
Oregon--$10 2 hours, $100/case (white box), $130/case (high grade), $55/500 (premium grade) (yep, that really is $220/case!)
Pennsylvania--$20 1/2 day entry, $99/case, $72/case if you pay for 12 or more cases at one time
Rhode Island--$20 entry, $65/case, $20/500
South Carolina--$10 entry, $50-80/case
South Dakota--$10 entry, $60/case
Tennesee--$7 1/2 day, $11 all day entry, $90/case, $26/500
Texas--$20 1/2 day, $30 all day entry, $90/case, $25/500, $20 ADA
Vermont--$10 entry, $75/case
Virginia--$10 entry, $45-$75/case
Washington--$12 entry, $55/case, $15/500
West Virginia--$10 entry, $75/Case, $19/500
Wisconsin--$20 4 hour session (10-12 games), $75/case, $25/500
Wyoming--$10 entry, $65/case (white box), $20/500 (white box)

My point with all of this info is--we are about the middle of the road as far as our pricing. We are not the lowest in the country (we are the lowest indoor in Utah), and we are most definitely not the highest (go play Oregon for that!!!)

We did our research before we set our pricing structure--we didn't just say, "how much money can we make?!"

We have tried to make it as affordable as possible for as many people as possible, while remaining a viable business. (We aren't here to get rich, we are here because we love this sport!) And we appreciate the support that we have received.

My advice to all players in Utah is this--support your local fields and stores, educate every person you encounter about how to be safe, and most importantly of all--have fun.

Thanks!
Lisa

They could only be lower if we did not plan to be a long term field in Utah.

Our pricing is designed to ensure that we stay around. Despite what some might think, no one gets rich in paintball. (except the big national companies) The old saying is "If you want to make a million dollars in paintball, start with two million."

People who come into this industry with the notion that it is a get rich quick, make money hand over fist operation will not be around for long.

The only reason people should ever get into this industry is because they want to work at something they love.

I don't play paintball, never have, probably never will--But there is no where that I would rather be than on the sidelines cheering when my kids are playing--that is why I am in this business.

Ok, I have sat by quiet for too long. Addicts is the lowest and has been the lowest price for paint in Utah. Furthermore, Lisa and John have done more for the players in Utah than anyone in a long time. They are the only remaining tourney field left. They do all they can to promote the sport. Including hosting and running tournaments.

But hey, lets bitch about the price of paint. Look for the same type of paint online. Compare the prices. They are about the same. Oh, and lets forget that addicts has to pay electricity, sewer, garbage, rent, insurance, CO2, delivery's, gas and stock. We will just suppose that they are just in it for the money. Being the ONLY indoor tournament field in Utah. They could charge 80 bucks a case. And laugh at you when you complain. But no. They dont though. Do they? No, they keep paint reasonable, SPONSOR allot of local teams, and promote the tournament player throughout Utah.

So next time you consider bitching about paint. Why not think a litttle more about what the cost goes to. Johngo had it right. When he said "sure, you can make a million dollars in paintball. If you start with two!"

Addicts

I have been playing paintball since 1988 and have played 20 or 30 indoors. Addicts is by far the cheapest indoor field, and the amazing thing is they haven't sacrificed, saftey, or quality while doing it.

You have to consider the overhead a indoor field has. Power, heat, water, logistics, staff, etc, etc. All that considered addicts is a steal, not to mention you can buy frequent player cards that discount things further.

Paintball is an expensive sport. Consumables such as air and paint will keep it that way.

For the quality of the staff they have, and the nicest indoor field Utah has ever seen addicts is a bargin.

ya i realize that they are the best in the state, but when i said their prices could be lower i wasnt meaning to bitch, and i want to thank addicts for not having high prices, but i do think it is expensive to play anywhere considering i only make min. wage and i would much rather spend it at addicts than any where else

i think the pricing is good. it would be cool if there were like three grade of paint like field premium and high grade paint starting at like 45 a case for field going on up to 75 for high grade this way if some one didnt have the 86 something to play u could have some choices this is just my opinion !
