his mind is wack, due to a different belief system? Think about what you are saying, you might as well be prejudice against poeple of other faiths... Oh and why in god's name would you coincide killing and homosexuality?[sarcasm] Because we all know that they are sooooo much alike [/sarcasm] Pale Rider wrote that Thou Shallt Not translates to do not do. That is correct, but, have you thought that there are over 19 large religions broken down into at least 270 sects. Ever think that they have different beliefs, that they dont belieive in the bible, testament, etc? How can you judge them if their belief system is different? Maybe poeple should be less close minded and prejudice. We are all different. Why dont you all put your minds together and find a cure for some disease, eat some oysters, go skinny dipping, and maybe solve the worlds engergy crisis. oh yeah, fight terrorism, yeah wooooo america! work out, eat philly cheese steak, look at chearleaders - thats what real men do! oh yeah, and did i say work out? If the homosexual issue was truly behind closed doors then it would be a matter of personal opinion. The problem is that they want equal public benefits that will require an increase in our taxes. This increase would not just be a minor increase. National Studies have determined that it would be a huge increase.
Employers are being required to hire people that are openly gay even if it causes negative impact on the business. The office staff is also effected by their relationships. Talk about sexual harassment, if a women is uncomfortable about how a guy responds to her in the office, now add people that openly display their sexual orientation contrary to the rest of the staff. I think a business owner has the right to create the office environment that he/she wants. The Gay movement wants to allow gays change that environment the way they want. If they would keep their behavior totally private then it would be difficult for society to complain. Even though I have only mentioned a couple of issues. There are hundreds of social issues that are involved that have nothing to do with religion. The intent of the question was not trying to poke into private lives, If you read the original post you will see he has a college paper to write on the subject of the effects of homosexual marriage on our society. Those who study the issue know of the many effects it will have. Just because you don't know the effects doesn't mean they don't exist.

Well spoken! I completely agree. If they can keep their personal business to their personal lives, and not display it where it would make others uncomfortable, then let them be. But its when they demand all the special treatments that irrates me. I personally pay all the taxes I would like to, so dont let such a minority population cause such a major increase to the majority. If they choose to be the way they are, and thats exactly what it is. They choose that lifestyle. That is fine. But dont let them con or bully society into letting them get all the benifits that will cost us. They chose the life, they can also take on the pro's/con's of that way of life. I agree as well, let them keep it personal. I don't run around saying "I'M STRAIGHT I'M STRAIGHT" Having Straight Pride parades, and puting stickers on my car identifying with what sex I like to.. well you know. I have a couple lesbian neighbors and I think they are awesome. They keep it to themselves, and they are great people. So here is a whole new can of worms. Franky stated that homosexuality is a "state of mind". If that's so, there have been countless serial killers that have had an "altered state of mind". Or can medical drugs fix it? Is it nature or nurture?

Homophobe Jones In Replay to welcollectors post #28
This sounds like the same thoughtless & ignorant type of argument you would have heard in the 60's. "We cant be letting those black folk work where we work, attend are schools and use our toilets"(redneck jones) Why cant we learn from past mistakes we as a society have made. Why is it we are only worried about how it may effect us but not about how others are being effected. I would really like to no how this causes any more of a finacial burden to empolyers or us tax payers by giving gays and partners benefits. How are we looking at it. Staightman w/ partner carries benefits, Gay man/women w/ partner carries benefit. Know whether this man is gay or staight he carries benefits for him and partner. Maybe it just the thought of offering a Gay individual something we don't believe they should have. I dont know for sure but I bet in the 60's most americans had the same fears and worries that allowing blacks to have the same rights as whites, was equal to the fears and worries we must have of allowing Gays to have same Rights as Straights. Thank you Krispy for this forum and good luck on your paper. one last statement from me "being open minded is seeing anothers point of view and viewing it from their situation, not yours" Dont be "Homophobe Jones"

Economics I did not take the time to read all of the comments but have you thought of the econimic impact of homosexual relationships and a declining population in general? When people can't have kids or choose not too the entire econimic system is impacted. Social Security is a good example, when you have declining population Social Security begins to fail, like it is today. This places a large burden on the youth of society in the future. That is why social policies matter to more than those involved. Unfortuanatly we can not deal with many issues just by dissmissing them as some one elses choice behind closed doors. The reality is that other peoples choices often have an impact on all of society, no matter where they make the choice.
