the only reason they went down was because of the crappy chronic we ended up shooting. the guns shoot amazing. plus the weather didnt help out the cause either. shoot one before you start criticizing the ego.

I know exactly what team/guys you are talking about. You need to also take in consideration that there was a few teams that were having gun problems. Occult had 4 guns go down. They ended up getting a rental to finish the tourney.

As for the Ego. I think you also have to look at the conditions they were in while this team was shooting them. One gun they borrowed and it haden't been cleaned since the guy last used it. The other gun started having problems due to some paint they had (think it was older stuff). Not only did the paint mess with the guns but it caused problems with their hoppers.

So in short I wouldn't base your opinion on the Ego just on the three you saw at the tourney. If you did then I think you would only stick to the kid who was shooting a Spyder and I think three Ions were running okay. But I saw a lot of gun problems. This I think was due to weather, paint, clean guns and some people not knowing their equipment due to they borrowed it.

In short, the Ego's are nice and well worth it. But shoot one first before you make your judgement. Some people like them some don't. I know Millennium has a Platinum Ego on the wall. Go shoot it and see what you think first.

Ego

Any marker not properly maintained is likely to malfunction. I can think of at least 5 guns at the RTR that went down 3 due to old paint and 2 to improper care.

Cold weather, old paint are always gonna bring the level of preformance down.

The egos i have shot are very nice, but like any tubed stack open bolt marker if you don't do what you have to your gonna have problems sooner or later.

I was one of the guys at battlegrounds shooting an ego. The gun was treating my badly that day, due to a combination of old detents and low battery. Before the tourney and after the tourney, the gun has never had any issue. I can't blame Planet Eclipse or Zap Chronic, because both usually perform great.

Actually, any gun that wada shoots is likely going to go to pot. I think he is somewhat cursed... 😁

Just kiddin, nothing but love for ya!

As for the EGO, like Derek said, any gun that is not maintained, not useing fresh batteries (especially the EGO) in cold weather is likely going to give you problems.

Sometimes its hard to pin it down to just paint, because the last few weekends out at the field EVERYBODY has been breaking many different types of paint because of the cold weather.

Keep the EGO well cleaned, LUBED, with fresh batteries and it will do a marvelous job.
