Spyder Rocking Trigger, Tournament Legal??? Hey everybody,
Just a question I would like to throw out to the head ref that was at the pre-rookie event Friday night. He told myself and my teamate that the rocking trigger made by Kingman is illegal for tournament use. I would like to know where he got this information. Reading the Rules at the NPPL ( 6.02 ) they define a trigger as being a single piece that is excerted force to fire the marker and then the force is let off to fire the marker again. It also states that the contacts inside the marker are NOT part of the trigger. What I get from this, the Rocking Trigger is in fact Legal to use in the NPPL. Any clarification would be great. Thanks

I'm not sure why, but I'm 99% sure they aren't legal.

If you cheat against me this is what I'll do. I will stick my gun under your mask and ramp on your face for a few seconds to disorient you, then I will proceed to tank whip you in the nuts repetitively until you pass out in the middle of the field so I can wear you on my back like a buffalo hide and sneak behind the rest of your team. What can I say I don't like cheaters 🙂

PigTV video with NPPL Scrutineer Dave Zinckham
After listening to this video, I would have to wonder.... But I'm not the head cheese for the UXPL....

True about bounce, but most(all) e-markers can be made to bounce, thats why you test for it....

as far as i know the rocking trigger is a legal triggar to use. one pull one shot. so what if it rocks. if you want to take a spider up against a DM5 or an angel you'll need all the help you can get. also with that trigger you won't be able to use high end paint at that ROF, balls will explode in your barrel, even if you have the ACS bolt. i've been through it. and it wasn't a matter of shooting hot either, and yes i did have a reg on my gun. so if you plan on using one in a tourney make sure you take your straight shot with you because you'll have to clean out your gun at least three times a game. and by the cheap paint with a harder shell. if you can.

All that and don't expect superb accuracy from a spyder and a high rate of fire. It's like using a can of spray paint, covers good, but not as precise as an airbrush.

The rocking trigger is not a legal trigger. The reason being. There can only be one contact point on the trigger. The rocking trigger however, has 2. That is why it is not tourney legal.

But if you read the NPPL rules they do NOT consider contact points part of the trigger. Explain that one!

Ok, For your benefit. It is a "DOUBLE or ROCKING" trigger. 2 contact points. NPPL rule 6.01 explains. A marker may only have a single trigger. The rocking trigger is a double trigger. Has 2 contact points. Thus making it illegal. Furthermore. If these were tourney legal. Dont you think ICD or WGP or the Timmy's would make better high end ones? think about it.
