Corys Post

Cory is exactly correct.

The UXPL would like to have a viable Open Class Division, as we discussed prizes and cost with the Open Division teams it became clear there were not enough viable teams to make a competitive 2005 Open Division. In effect the UXPL is training teams to get better to be Open Class teams.

The Player classifications are in Print on the UXPL site and are based on the IPPI database. IPPI 2nd Year Novice and Ametur players are consider UXPL Open Division, its that simple.

For 2006 all of the 2005 UXPL Novice winners will be reclassified as Open Division teams and we expect to have a great Open Class!!!

Secondly The UXPL for 2005 can only accomodate 24 teams and still run a good event. I have had to turn away several teams from both events because we were full. It is important to the UXPL to provide a high quality event for the teams. I will not compromise the UXPL just to make another $250.

Third if you dont like me personally then PLEASE do us all a favor, take your bad attitude and go play somwehere else instead of spreading lies and hatred about me or the events that I promote.

If you want to discuss any issues my phone number is 801-544-9844...

So you can only play in the Novice division if for two years if you dont place in any of the events?

Zen and the Art of Paintball

IPPI changed their classifications for 2005 and no longer moves people up, automatically. There will no longer be a 1st year Novice, 2nd year Novice classification in IPPI at the end of this year.

So as of the end of the 2005 season we will have to re-evaluate integrating the IPPI data into the UXPL system.

Currently there is no time limit on UXPL Novice Division.

I suspect that just like the NPPL and XPSL have done that eventually the UXPL will also have to pro-rate prizes by Division. In other words we will have to give higher division teams a reason to play and lower division teams a reason to "move up", by offering larger prizes to upper divisions.

I know that players are just looking at thier own status "Right Now" and the things I am talking about affect the entire League and its viability over several years. As a result some players fail to grasp how decisions today affect the league in a year or two. What I am trying to do is build a durable regional legue that will be around in 5 or 10 years.

It is my hope that the UXPL becomes far larger than me or the few teams here in Ogden - SLC -Provo area. We are already experiencing that with 3 Idaho and 1 Wyoming team participating, it is my hope that the trend continue.

The Intermountain region deserves a good Tournament circuit!

FIRST OF ALL THANKS FOR TWO GREAT TOURNAMENTS THIS YEAR, i AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT TWO. NO MATTER HOW TEAMS ARE CLASIFIED SOMEONE GETS LEFT OUT. ITS HARD TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY. I THINK THAT THE UXPL GROUP HAS DONE A GOOD JOB AT CREATING A ROOKIE CLASS THAT IS ROOKIES. I HAD A ROOKIE TEAM THAT WE HAD PLANNED ON PUTTING IN BUT THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO GO TO NOVICE, WE DID NOT WANT TO HAVE 4 TEAMS IN THE NOVICE DIVISION SO WE DID NOT PUT THEM IN. YES WE WERE BUMMED OUT BUT AFTER THINKING ABOUT IT AND WATCHING THE GAMES, I AGREE ALLEN IS DOING THE RIGHT THING. WITH THE XPSL RULE CHANGES HE WILL HAVE TO RETHINK CLASIFICATIONS, BUT I KNOW THEY ARE TRYING TO BUILD THE SERIES AND THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING. INSTEAD OF CRITISIZING MAKE DIPLOMATIC SUGESTIONS AND LETS GIVE THESE GUYS THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE. 😉

Wow.... Anayitical, Intelegent, Articulate, and Positive that is a rare post!
I apprecite the kinds words for a change!

I have always said the UXPL is open to suggestions for improvements.

A list of complants does not a solution make.

If you have a real solution to something you would like to see improved, then email me so we can discuss it at length or call me.

Is there some reason why you won't answer my original question Allen? I'd like you to stop dodging it and give me a specific answer for public record for everyone to see.

Oh yeah, looks like good old Neil IP banned me, so i have to use other computers to see these forums .

Thanks a bunch Neil 😁

maybe your buddy is a punk and we don't need any more a holes playing. maybe it's because the number of teams are capped. why are you so worried about your buddy. is he a big boy? has he asked why he can't play. maybe you should have him call allen as you only have one side of the story.

Better one Trigger guy,

Instead of attacking me on an anonymous forum, if you are serious about this I invite you to come down and discuss this with me face to face. In fact I will buy you lunch, call me at 801-544-9844 to set up a time.

First I have never recieved a UXPL registration form or payment that include you or your friend so your claim is untruthful. Some of your posse has inquired about the event but NONE of them have ever resistered to even be on the official waiting list.

Secondly all but one or two UXPL slots are taken by season teams and the remaining slots are given by preference to teams who have played in UXPL events previously. As I stated previously we have turned away teams both in state and out of state.

Third When the last event was full I referred some of the guys in your group who wanted to play to the Redz 3 team, and in thanks for that I get attacked. I guess I was wrong for trying to help you guys.

Fourth Since you and your posse hate me so much I suggest it would be best for all us if you NOT enter UXPL tournaments.

..
