True.. they are legally novice(not sure about headshot)... Allthough its cool that my rookie team is playing novice.. we are fairing well..

Well bottom line is that this is an event for newer players. Piss and moan all you want to about not being allowed to play. There are pleanty of other events fairly close that you could do. WPC is a drive away, numerous fields have small 3 man events every once in a while. There are events in Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado as well. There is also the 1 or 2 MWXPL events a year. Look around on the web, you can find loads of fairly close events. Or you could just sit here and wine about how unfair the UXPL is.

Why shouldn't you be allowed to play whatever tournament you want? I can see if they want to divide the skill level or make someone play in a different division, but to not allow them to play is silly.

All events have restrictions. In XPSL there is no pro division, or semi-pro. In WPC there is only div 3 & div 2. The UXPL is just for newer players.

Possible

I understand what allen has been trying to do. I think the stress come from the fact that the UXPL might need to expand into another area and reclassify itself.

I don't think any of this is of an malicious intent.

It is too good of an event to be limited anymore. How about bringing a new classification on...Let us old timers get in on the action.

it seems to me that it would take a lot more more of allen's time to be biased rather then fair. Why would he put more strain on himself.? He obviously is doing many things, why add a additional load? I doubt Allen would do what you say he has done but what do I know I'm just a kid trying to play some ball.

Trying to clarify....

I’d like to clarify a few things that have been asked in this thread:

Open Class Teams:
The UXPL has always had an open division and open teams are welcome to play in the UXPL events. There are a few things that are preventing the open teams from attending: First is the incredible response from the Novice and Rookie teams that has filled most if not all the slots available for play. Second is the fact that we spoke to several open class teams before the season started and asked them what the UXPL needed to offer to attract them to the events. What they collectively wanted by way of prizes would have required taking prizes away from the other divisions or raising entry fees, the UXPL staff didn’t feel comfortable with either option. This is not to say that the open teams are being greedy, they simply expected a certain level of return for putting money into play that the UXPL couldn’t provide without reducing the return to the Novice and Rookie divisions.

The end result is we have an open division that we don’t really promote.

If it looks like we are trying to exclude the open class players, then I apologize, that was not the intent.

Please be aware that Open Class teams are welcome to play in the UXPL, but if we don’t have enough open teams registered for an event we will not run the division. Players who fall into the open class category are welcome to play on a novice team provided they are the only open class player on the roster for the event. Many open players are currently doing this.

If you are part of an open team that wants to play please register, if we get enough teams we will run the division.

Turning away teams:
We have said from the start of the season that each event will be limited to 24 teams. We do this because we don’t have the resources to accommodate more. We’re just not in a position to be a bigger event right now. If a team is the 25th to register, they will be turned away, we don’t want to but we simply can’t accommodate any more teams right now.

Player Turned away:
As for the person who was turned away; this is the first I’ve heard of it. Allen is out of town on vacation and should be back soon; as such he is not able to respond right now. I suggest that you go to his shop and speak to him about this for clarification some time next week.

Ballisticchic.....

they shouldnt have to.... It should be more of a bump up to the next level since they play in that level. (As to the words of Allen) They can play where they are cus they are doing so. I know most all of the players on that team, Good Friends. Too good? no one is ever too good....
