And

And your point is speed? If you have a problem with people discussing an topic at least come up with your own response. 🙄

Cornstar... aka Jim corn is a long time friend of mine. And even as an outstanding person that Jim is, remeber that spec ops signs his checks so his opinion may be from a different angle than the rest of us.

hey derek i my point was to try and clairfy what the rules are and why they made the rules, and as far as i'm concerned kiss my ass, i don't have a problem with a topic being discussed, and i gave corn credit for the post, i'm not trying to claim it as my response, and guess what Spec Ops signs my checks too, and i agree with what they are trying to do, i played them in the test games, and i know why they made these rules, i don't like them cause that forces me to buy a new gun to play with in the sppl but still they are trying to do something good for the sport.

there that is my own response.

Any time you wanna say that to my face you let me know. 😉

How does reposting jims quote clarify the rules? So in response to your comments speed...F**k YOU!

Nobody cares its and open forum so it gonna get discussed. Don't like it? So what we are gonna discuss it. We are puzzled by some of them so what the big deal, you little piece of shit?
I liked the idea, i thought it had potential but with you on their staff ill have to question their judgement all together

Your post had nothing to do with explaining the rules... Im still trying to figure out what the hell your post was about?

You are an Idiot speed.

both of you quit your bitching at eachother and get over it. We don't need threads being hijacked because sticks shoved up various places.

If you arn't discusing something directly related to the thred's starter, go start your own thread.

lol thanks greg

Agreed.

I spoke to Jim Corn for about an hour over this, while the format is a bit unusual and im sure many of the rules will have to be tweaked it seems to me that the intent of this program will be fun. Jim also stated that they know there will be a bit of growing pains but they will do everything they can to ensure fair play.

Should be mentioned that if anyone else has questions they can contact Jim at Spec ops and he will be happy to fill in any questions you have.

I think we will give it a try. I love the paint limit and the anti cheating penalties.

I support Spec Ops in this venture, the idea of having a "Scenario" Copmeition is a good one. I plan on sponsoring a team in the event.

My concern is the same as Derek's, they need TONS of Reffing and as the fomat stands they dont have it.

We know from experience and the History of Tournament paintball that any "Competition" where you have guys hiding over several acers will just be a cheaters paradise. No matter all the talk of "Honor" and what not. IMO you need a 1 ref to 1 player ratio or close to it to make this work.

We already know from Experience that competition in the woods = WipeFest!

I Believe that most of the True Scenario guys will play by the rules, but the "Paintball Mercenaries" WON'T.

This is a quote from Nate on Utah Paintball and I couldn't say it any better.

"The elim ref has a piece of paper for every player on the team and when they are eliminated they show that ref every where they have been hit and he then marks it on the paper, that way they can check to see if there are any old or wiped off hits, if a player has a hit on him that is not marked on the paper and is still playing he gets the playing on penaltie, if a player has a wiped off hit that has not been marked on the paper he gets the playing on penaltie. They doint do anything like that in tourny play. I feel that it would be very hard to get away with wiping a hit and doing other things us "tourny" players are known for, in a way it almost seems that they are encouraging the feelings of dislike between tourny players and woodsball players. "

The piece of paper is called a splat sheet and was used long ago in tournaments when all the paint stained and we needed to document where we were hit. While it sounds like a good idea, like everything else there are ways around the splat sheet.

The Spec Ops leadership has been playing ball for a long time and are trying to bring an old playing style back. I don't beleive they are trying to exclude a certain type of player, they are simply trying to identify a different and very specific style of play. I can see where a speedball player would feel excluded.

There is probably a middle road here that can be found that will benefit the SPPL and still allow those who play tournament style speedball the ability to participate. However, from the way I read it if you can get your hands on an SPPL legal marker, then you are welcome to play the event.

As for the reffing, tournament ball evolved into concept fields (Airball, Hyperball, etc) partly because of the extreme difficulty associated with reffing in the woods. Corn is aware of this and I'm sure he's thinking this through.

Good luck to the SPPL, I'm very interested in seeing how they progress.
