i only took pictures but i will agree with greg i was on field 2 alot throught out the day and the head ref for field 2 was not only poor but he sucked ass, i've seen bad calls but he was terrible. i watched as he ran (it was more of a woddel) across the field to pull a player for having and "obvious" hit on the back of his head, god the ref must have been blind or seeing things cause there was nothing resembiling a hit on the back of his head. IMO that ref should never be aloud to ref again or he needs to be taught how to ref. overall congrats to all the teams that played, everyone put in a good effort.

I was about ready to rip some heads off on our last game, but I calmed down later on. Thats funny that Speed mentioned that about pulling a guy for a hit that wasn't there because the head ref kept saying (before the game) there was a hit on my friends hat when it was a red design that didn't really look like a hit at all. Refs on field 1 were pretty dang good almost all the bad calls were on #2. Hopefully next tourney we will make it to the semis. In the 3 tourneys I've played we have been kept out of the finals because of bad ref calls. I think we have a curse. anyway it was a decent event although I expected a little more (like real sup air bunkers). oh yeah speed when are you getting the pics up.

If you cheat against me this is what I'll do. I will stick my gun under your mask and ramp on your face for a few seconds to disorient you, then I will proceed to tank whip you in the nuts repetitively until you pass out in the middle of the field so I can wear you on my back like a buffalo hide and sneak behind the rest of your team.
What can I say I don't like cheaters 🙂

well the ref on head ref on field two took my gun and punched the tank as hard as he could and it shot twice. but i couldnt get the trigger to bounce normally and he gave our team and captain some good yelling.

I have been reading all the posts and have been somewhat laughing. Let me explain.

I play for Frantic (for those who was there I am refuring to Frantic 1). Anyways we all played 8 games (I believe) and we played field 1 only twice. So most of my experiences are coming from feild 2.

Here is why I laugh. We were playing against a team (not mentioning the name cause it is not needed and they might know who they are), and it was Frantic up by three and they had only one guy left. Well the guy was totally posted only on me and one of my other guys came behind him and bunkered him. Yes, three shots went up his side. Anyways he was mad and said we was ramping or bouncing. So right after the complaint (before flag was hung) we was re-chronoed and checked for bounce. No bounce or ramping and we was all shooting at 270 or under. Now is that bonus balling? If that is then I was bonus balled every game but one.

Well from that time on we was always checked once we got on the field. Nothing ever found. As I was reading Ozma_adam's comment about the bounce it was when we was on the field. I was right next to the ref. He hit the back of the tank and it shot like four times. He then said this gun has bounce and disqualified the gun for the day. Then if I remember right they borrowed a gun and it was always shooting hot. So they ended up borrowing a gun from team Headache.

Any ways I laugh because I thought over all the reffing was good. There was a few bad calls but that comes with reffing. In my opinion they didn't have enough until the finals. I can honestly only remember about five refs on the field. And the head ref I thought mostly was supposed to keep track of time not make calls. There was a couple of calls that I wish would have been quicker. We played a team and the guy who ran to a corner got hit off the break and our front guy got him on the pack and when I moved up I ended up getting him again in the foot and thigh (spelling). When I was telling the ref to get him out nothing happened for a while. But when it did I wish they would have pulled a 1 for 1.

Over all I thought it was a good event and as all of you know it only gets better as the year progresses. It was a learning experience for all of us. The only thing I would like to see (and I know it is hard because every one is always willing to put the blame on the refs but not willing to be one) is getting more refs. But like I said everyone will blame a call but never put themselves in the position to help.

A question for Occult:
How did you guys play as rookies? I thought I saw most of you guys last year at these events, not all as Occult though but I don't remember what team at the moment. Granted I don't know you guys well but I do usually remember faces.

Well we will see you all next time. You can count us in for the year.

I want to thank all the refs for the hard work they put in. I have been a ref both in paintball and other sports and I can tell you it's not easy. I think every paintball player should ref at least one tourney to know what it's like to be in their shoes for a day. If it weren't for them the event would be impossible to put on. Bad calls can happen and they can't see everything, but they have the final call and deserve that respect. Thanks to all the teams that participated, Frantic you guys were gentlemen from what I saw along with many of the other teams and players.

And thanks to Allen and the staff for all their hard work. Allen has got some announcing skills going on.

I just wanted to say I think the refs weren't to bad either and for saying the field two refs were bad, don't. If you look at the field set ups field two in my opinion would be much more difficult to ref than field one. As for game play I would like to say I enjoyed every game that we played and every team we went up against. I know we had issues we some calls but everyone did. This was our first event as a five man and was probably more than anything a chance to learn. This was the first event of the season teams will get better and I'm sure the reffing will to.

Hope To see you all at the next event.

i won't be putting them up, if you want to see the pics pm me or catch me on messenger and i will see what i can do to get them to you, i didn't get pics of all teams so don't be upset. I was at the tourney mainly for one team because they contacte me personally. I will also be getting a copy of all pics to Allen so he may or may not be putting them up.

If you would like me to take pics of your team for the next tourney (or any tourney) send me a pm or contact me somehow and i will try to make it. I make NO PROMISES that i can make it, or that i will get all of your games in but i will make sure to get as many as possible.
