i agree about dell i have their gold technical support and it rocks i recently had some problems with my machine and instead of them fixing the problem they just sent me a brand new one (not referbed) BRAND NEW, with upgraded parts.

However Greg, Compaq and HP are the same company so i find it interesting that one craps out more than the other. IMO

I'm not trying to explain it lol. I just know that the Compaq is the biggest hunk of crap i have ever seen.

maybe they are using second rate parts on the compaq and first rate on their HP?

well i ended up pickin up a dell laptop from the refurbished dell internet site. Pretty sweet computer i would have to say at a fairly reasonable price.
