absolutley agree with tuby sry to those who like the cap but i think if u can shoot fast then do it (without cheating)

I have paid a lot for my marker to be able to just rip tuby. I am not saying that I want to see a BPS cap either, but at the rate we are going currently, we are due for something catastrophic to happen. I personally don't want that to happen, or to have felt responsible by standing on the sidelines not saying a word.

Ultimately, after giving this subject a LOT of thought, it comes down to safety for me.

Safety yes that is a problem. I think if there is a cap it should be higher and you cant have ramping to achieve this cap. Maybe some where around 21-25 balls per second cap. No matter what I say no bounce, or ramping! What skill does it take to put a cheater board in your gun? One thing I didnt think about is safety, around 20 bps is good for safety, and fast enough for the back players.

lets see you trigger a gun at 20BPS, I know a handfull of people that can even think of going that fast

To be honest, I see more pro's than con's with this issue. The only real arguement against the cap would be that with ramping and bouncing and what not, people would no longer need to practice as much as those that have obtained those "ninja" skills already. To that, people are lazy, why do you think ramping boards were invented??

As for me, my vote would be for a cap. Put it at 18 bps. That is high for most beginners and a good rate for veterans. I don't want to have to hear about a fatal incident due to overshooting.

One other benefit is that instead of just excersising and honing your index and middle fingers, players need to hone their physical abilities (i.e. sprinting, diving, sanp shooting, etc.) This cap makes the game more of a strategic game not just a shooting match to see who can shoot the most paint. If you can get to the other side of the field faster through shooting and physical abilities your game is going to be a lot better and cheaper. Not to mention more bunkering and some sweet ass moves.

Going back to the analogy of auto racing, the reason restrictor plates were instituted was because the race cars were going over 200 mph and when they hit someone or were turned backwards they went airborne and turned into missiles. Too many racers and some spectators died because there wasn't a limit. Paintball will be get there without regulation. I would rather limit our progression for professional purposes than hear about a tournament player killed by being overshot.
