Very nice gun... Shoots sweet...Although it is..different to have more of the repercussion coming back at you with the porting....

Now I am interested in picking up a new rifle, gotta love Bush for letting the brady bill pass by... He knows that we as Americans must be able to protect ourselves in case of an invasion... word

Thats strange. My SA XD-40 is ported and has less recoil than without porting. If thats what you meant Krispy. Plus I didnt know they made an XD-9 ported model Hmm... Ahh wait a sec. They do make a ported 9 but it's not recommened because there has been cases of the slide not recoiling back far enough to re-cock the gun in some cases. Ported 40 and larger are recommended. My 2centz. PLus guys dont forget to get an insight technologies M6 tactical laser illuminator for your XD. For those things that go bump in the night. 😉

I am just a big fan of the .45, I like some 1911's. Kimber, Wilson Combat and the newer Springfields. 1911's are a great multi purpose handgun that combine accuracy, and durrability. Kimber & Wilson are by far the best and go through the toughest and strictest hand inspections to maintain their reputation. Although I want a new .45, I will never get rid of my USP Tac. .45... HK and Sig make very high quality firearms as well.

Now for a hand cannon, the Desert Eagles are definitely that in the .44 & .50 calibers, but the new S&W 500 is a hand howitzer. I went shooting last weekend with my cousing and he just purchaced one of them w/ a 4" barrel. Holy **** that thing makes the ground shake. The rounds are about the size of a chapstick.
