I can't really say one way or the other because I have not been personally involved with XPS before. My gut tells me that XPS should try and get a larger pool of Utah locals involved in team paintball before having a larger organization with a broader out of state visibility come in and call the shots. What might be the downfall is we could get LESS local participation, not MORE. And when all of those out of state teams go home, the only ones left to support the local scene is, of coarse, the locals. So why should we be whoring ourselves out this early on in the game to a national series?

How many failed series are we going to have before we learn just to leave well enough alone? XPS has something very good going for it. I've read a lot of positive things about XPS on this website, from locals that know what they are talking about. Why would anyone want to change that? Keep it pure. Keep it local.

Series fail because they don't grow. Not because they stay local. The problem in utah is that the local players want markers and money for every win. They don't want to play against people who stepped up to play regional's or nationals. And tehy swear that anyone who has ventured outside Utah, Who has developed a 6th sense for movement and doging paint, Is a cheater and not worthy of being on the same field.

The XPS affiliation helps us all. Mwxpl failed because it was sold to a group that did not have the support or capital behind it Craig Munsee had. UXPL is an excellent series. locals only. But people complain that they dont get a new car after every win. XPS is run and reff'd by experienced tourney players and staff. The affiliation allows those of us willing to step outside of utah to play hard against national teams. It gives us 5 total points for our efforts. These are points that we would not have available to us otherwise. ALL the XPSL teams play affiliates. It helps them move up the rankings. So I say lets do this.

Good point about too many Utahn's expecting gold watches and Escalades for winning, but that wasn't what I was pointing out at all. A series won't grow, locally, if it is does not primarily consist of locals. A lot of young teams here won't even show up if they think they don't stand any chance. I've personally seen groups of players who won't play against another group just because they are all wearing jerseys and not t-shirts! What do you think they are going to do when they see vans and trailers with Las Vegas teams logos on the side?

I say, if we have two or three awesome local teams, then part of the winnings should go to those teams to help them in national events. It's a win-win. Our very best will get the money and help they need to compete at a higher level, and it will also inspire our other local teams to try and do the same thing, while not stacking the odds against them. God bless you guys that are so awesome at our sport, but realize that Utah is small time. No one will win by bringing so-cal and vegas here. But if we have a chance to send some teams to those areas, while at the same time building the pool of potential players locally, our scene might just blow up.

if that were to happen than every team in Utah would start playing national events.

Utah we still need more votes and opinions to give us a solid answer on what we will do this season.

Please let us know what you would like to see. We are your tournament series...

Become an Affiliate. I have not been to an XPS, but from what all of my buddies have told me, its a great event. Due to the appraise from Utah players, and experience of the XPS staff, I see no reason why you wouldn't become an XPSL affiliate.

The XPS staff certainly has the knowledge to be a great candidate for an affiliate. I think the majority of Utah players would like to see XPS grow. It brings in more experienced teams, Utah players get more experience from those teams, XPS grows, the majority of teams will be happy. If teams don't like the affiliate, they can always participate in the 5 man events.

I say become an affiliate. It will help out the teams that do play the higher events and will help utah get the respect we deserve from out of state teams. just my 2 cents

Well my team as well as another from Idaho has started looking into doing XPSL and NPPL events. So having a feeder series near by would help out allot. That is just my two cents.
