How soon people forget where they came from and who helped them get there.

My 2 cents

I have read this thread and weighed the opinions. Now I feel compelled to add my OPINION! I can't stress enough that this is my opinion and events I witnessed. This is not a condemnation of kevin. Just my stated opinion. His post compelled me to respond. again, my OPINION! For the Lawyers out there.

I have been in the Utah paintball scene for 3 or so years. My very first UXPL event was at Velocity where we placed 4th. I didn't know Kevin other than the guy who owned ballistic. I had no opinion one way or the other. Then when his team lost in the semi's. He accused a ref of birdogging and cursed at he and his staff. then he told his player to empty the hopper into the ref if he did it again. He cursed loudly in front of parents and children and it was embarrassing. Kevin continued this behaviour the entire season.

Next season he got a team of soon to be departing missionaries Disqualified from the MWXPL. They wanted to play the event before they left on mission. But Kevin came out of the dead box shooting at Tommy Tucker after kevin walked through a stream on his way back to the dead box. Then at the same event there was the shadowy "Hit" order he gave to Nick to shoot Tommy, who was on his team, during the game. Tommy was shot at point blank range while in the dead box.
Then he argued with and cursed the ref's the rest of the event. He was finally asked to leave.

At the Addicts tournaments he cursed at John at every event. If a call didn't go his way he threated to walk out. But against everyones hopes, Never did.

The next UXPL season he continued his obscenity laced tiraids at every event.

This years UXPL he cursed the ref's, Other teams and threatened physical violence. He threatened to hit the chrono ref last event.
As for the "nigger" quip. It was heard by a good many people. And refering to the ref now as the "Asian" kid is equally offensive. And how did you know which ref it was unless you did say it? You also yelled "You F-ing ref's suck!. At the last event.

Kevin has tried on several occasions to stack teams in his favor. Matty playing rookie for him in XPS. Sin City kids last event. and Pitch Black kids before that.

To Attack the SL Tension kids without solid proof is immature and Myopic. You have no proof that they did it. And your angry at them after they won you the sponsorship. They could make the same type of accusations about the sudden police involvment after they asked you to stop coming to the park. But they were more mature and professional about it.

As far as kevin doing a lot for the Utah paintball scene? I beg to differ. He has embarassed himself even at the XPSL's.

I beg to differ that Kevin has done a lot for the Utah paintball scene.
John and Lisa and Craig Rippen has done a TON more for the scene. But not one of them has embarassed themselves like that. I would love to be compelled to come to kevins aid. But I have a long memory for what has happened over the past 3 seasons.

And as far as throwing rocks, glass houses and all. Well Kevin, you would be homeless at this point.

Again, this is my Opinions and facts as I saw them.

Frank, I respect your opinion too and your point of view. Since I'm sure I'm not involved in paintball as much as you are there are things I haven't seen. Anyway I don't want to get involved in this whole fiasco, sheesh I haven't really even played paintball this year. I guess I'm just trying to focus on the positive side. Yes Kevin has done some dodgy things at tournies but I've seen plenty of other teams and players do stuff too.

SL Tension did not get the sponsorships I had them long before we played PSP. As for proof I forwarded it to my attorney this morning for her to read. I will talk to her tomorrow if its ok I will post it.
Yes I have lost my cool more than once. I don't like it when shitty reffs screw my guys and wipe off their friends. This will never change in local events because there isn't enough money to pay professional reffs.
Frank your not perfect yourself. Your far from being a good reff you have to many friends on the field and wont listen to anyone but yourself.
There is one thing good about the thread. I found out who my friends are.
Don't worry there wont be any Ballistic teams playing in locals next year. I stated this at the first of the year and it is still the same.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. I never called you an ass though. And you can't really say what a good or bad ref is unless you have been one yourself. If I was wrong on the Matty point. I apologize. But You fielded the teams. Your players may have found replacments. But you knew who they were And futhermore, you make accusations and then delete them? who is the real coward here? Just my opinion.

I'm not going to say anything about Frank because I don't really know the guy, but there definately was some shady stuff going on at most of the tournaments that never was addressed. I understand that it's a hard job that most people don't want to do, but it would have been nice to see consistent, unbiased reffing throughout the entire season. After all, it's mostly just local players (not all play only locally obviously) trying to have some fun. It's a shame that politics have to be involved.

The problem is that the most experienced players want to play. So consistancy will never be maintained. It is an unfortunate casuality of the sport. Most of us ref's do play. We play locally and nationally. It is a hard job. Getting shot all day. No breaks, standing in the sun and rain and wind. But we do the best job we can.

Did a ballistic guy just say this? 😲 From what i have seen a great deal of your players would be in real trouble if this really happened. 🙂
Oh, Just my opinion.

While i hardly agree with every call i have watched Frank make consistant calls time and time again regardless of the player. I have known frank for years and he didn't hesitate to pull me or threaten me with suspension when i was out of line. He is fair and consistant, that is all we can ask. The recently Uxpl reffs have been the best Utah has ever scene, things dont always go our way, but thats what paintball is about.

If ballistic is getting picked on they did to themselves with shady play and bad attitudes. And its really to bad because there are some great guys who are amazing players on that team.
Blame who ever you need to but you only need to look in the mirror for the root cause of all your problems

And that would be the best thing for Utah paintball. ballistic has some great players and great guys, and they certainly will play locally you cannot control that, and they can do nothing but benifit from you removing yourself from the local scene and their direction as players.
So please follow through on your promise.
