❓ Hydrotesting in Utah Okay, I just got a cheap Crossfire 68/3000 that is past its expiration date. Could anyone please tell me where I could go locally to get it tested for as little as possible. 😕 I live in West Valley, but don't mind driving a little to get it done.

Any of the paintball shops can do it. A lot of SCUBA shops will do it. There is also a company called universal cylinder in south salt lake that can do it for around $20 and it is done in 2-3 days.

Hydrotesting clear as mud.. Pressure cylinders are certified by the US Department of Transportation. Hence all the numbers on the tanks.
As it was explained to me, there are two parts to hydro testing The first is the testing itself, which many ententies can do the second is the certification or insurace of the testing by an approving authority, who certifies the tank is safe. Hydro-testing for your own purposes is fine but if the tank is to meet the legal requirements of USDOT, there are some additional issues to consider. As a matter of practicallity Jason is correct Hydro testing can be done by a number of facilities but I dont know how many of them also certify the tanks, via the Insurance for USDOT. Frankly I dont know it the additional certification really matters or not. I have asked several Cylinder companies and recieved different responses from each one.... I know clear as mud... .. __________________
