Why we are closing the NPPL Forum and blocking the NPPL web cast

Bad move on PbNation's part IMO. This is the same kind of deal that any other reputable company would make in broadcasting rights, or in any other company decision. The Super Bowl is on one channel but no one complains that there's no highlight video of it! This is a great step for paintball in bringing the sport to the mainstream and becoming a recognized sport by a larger audience.

It was a business move on NPPL's part. Yes it will hurt those few paintball movie producers like MWAG, but I think it will help the paintball industry. PBNation is understandably upset, but they should also be applauding NPPL for trying to grow the sport. NPPL and FOX could've easily blocked all video taping from all of the fields.

I would rather watch paintball for free on tv then drop 20-30 bucks for a specialized(small market, high price) dvd. And like Tim said, once you have seen one, you've seen them all. The only good dvd I have seen in many years is the "Cereal Killers" dvd.

If you complain about it, why not do something real about it and start your own paintball dvd producing company and see just how much fun and much money you will make on it.

PB Nation and Paintball DVD's

The problem with DVD's is they only seem to cover certain teams and really only appeal to hard-core paintball community and the NPPL have a great opportunity to put paintball into the mainstream rather than just stuck and dying as it seems to be headed.

They are trying to maintain the integrity of the sport by supporting The names that the paintball community knows as big, while the rest of america ruins them with their blissful ignorance of the sport other than 'That game that was on ESPN2 that one time.' Childish...No. Upset...Yes. And they have every right to be so. The rest of the country doesn't even know DerDer or Monkey with a Gun exist and therefor the large broadcasting stations will run them out of business with little to no retaliation, and they won't even know they have done it. And the fact that the NPPL will let that happen is the reason for PbNation to react this way. Plus, DerDer and Monkey with a Gun wouldn't really take any thunder away from ESPN or Fox, all they do is make redankulous videos.
