Alias is light as heck, has a few different internals, and has different milling obviously.
It does however shard the same board as some timmies like the ND if I'm not misunderstold. __________________

The Alias bodies are shorter and the internals are slightly different. For instance, on previous models of Timmy's you have a rubber bumper on the ram. The 2004 models (Alias, ND, etc) have a newly designed "air cushion" ram that eliminates the need for the bumper. The LPR has also been changed to allow more air to sit in reserve. The LCD screen has been moved from the top of the grip frame to the middle (where your hand sits), allowing the marker to drop some height. The 2004s also use the new Frenzy board which is just as programmable/adjustable as the WAS or Chaos boards.
As for your functionality question, the 2004s function the same way as previous models. Picture a ram that can be pressurized at either end (much like an autococker ram, except internal to the marker), the bolt attaches to the ram from the top via a bolt pin. When the trigger is at rest, the front of the ram is pressurized, when the trigger is pulled pressure is released from the front of the ram and applied to the back of the ram closing the ram (and by the bolt pint, the bolt) as ram moves forward, it strikes the valve, which allows air to rush through the system and blow the ball out the barrel. The dwell determins how long the ram is allowed to press against the valve. Once the dwell time has passed, the back of the ram is depressurized, and the front pressure is reapplied, pushing the ram back into position and opening the bolt allowing the system to reload. That's a little simplistic, but basically how it works. __________________
