i dont think the refs were biased i just think it was pure inexperience. They just didnt know how to handle in the heat of the action calls. Then mr. yellow mask kinda went 1 for 1 crazy even pulling some one for a 1 for 1 on a pack hit....

Ya give these guys a break, they were team GOAT from st. george. They stepped up to ref this event instead of playing in it. I think that they did a OK job for jumping in when the regular "experienced" refs were not able to come to this event in SLC.
And if I remember correctly when the first MWXPL was in ST. George, these guys played in it and did very well, so for that I say Thank you for stepping up when no one else wood.

I had the opportunity to talk to Josh Kling this weekend. He felt that the reffing was fine and told me that Ground Control "wood" definately be back for the next event. I guess the event was either great or bad depending on your teams results. I'll be interested in how the next one goes.

Chandler, James, and Crew are good guys. They are working their butts off to make this a good series. And I dont know of any tournament I have been to where there werent complaints about reffing, so whatever to that. They did an ok job, its a tough calling. I'm sure it will get better too as the series plays out.
Thanks guys!

reffing

I agree that these guys simply lacked the experience for this event. My hats off to them for stepping up to the challenge, however this series needs better refs to keep teams coming. The coordinators of this series need to make sure that the reffing staff is up to par because bad reffing is the first thing that will scare teams away from any event.

Every ref is different and has strengths and weaknesses. The pro's count on it...

Hopefully sometime in the near future true reffing crews will evolve....kinda like a paintball team. These are guys that will stay together, work well together, and make a descent buck together.

Reffing is the hardest job on the field. It's thankless and you work for 10-16 hrs, typically just for deals on paint or entry assistance. The overall feel of a major event rides on your performance as a team. Staying sharp and being at your best for those many hours is impossible.

So, just think about it for a sec before you totally shred a reffing crew or an event. There will ALWAYS be bad calls or missed calls. Just learn how to find yourself on the winning side of the calls. Arguing will just escalate problems...so find ways in your game.

Just .02 cents from some nobody that stopped in. ๐Ÿ™„ I'll be movin into Utah in October so I'm checkin the scene. I'm from the Northwest.
