I just saw it too, I guess the kid lifted up his mask in the middle of the game. Lisa did a good job on the interview

Did this happen in Utah, or outside of Utah?

That is one of the most poorly written articles I have ever read. Also, even though it is obvious it was this kids fault, they still make it sound like the gun was to blame.

It read as though a half-dead monkey wrote the article. I agree. It is poorly written and lay the blame on the marker, not the child.

The kid is a boner. The article was pretty lame. If your going to shoot yourself in the face, then dont try to accuse a gun, or the industry as a whole for being unsafe. Good thing we have Lisa that can tell the nieve media that this is a safe sport, and all it takes is a little education.

Did anyone else notice last night on the news that the reporter was swinging around a live paintball gun WITHOUT a barrell plug?

I have already sent a scathing email to the producers at KSL about violating basic safety while doing a story about safety!!!

Good job lisa...

Nobody likes a hypocrite!

I could barely trudge through that article 🙁 Horribly written! I think the part that bothers me the most is the "Chris Robbins, Blinded by paintball" every time they quoted him.

This one was also another favorite of mine: "Chris Robins, Blinded by paint ball: "And I thought it might have been jammed in the barrel so I looked down there and it fired at me." His marker has a mind of its own. Kids seriously need to be taught safety and common sense-- So, if you handgun got jammed, you would look down the barrel to see if the bullet got stuck???? Just drives me nuts..

Lisa, again, im glad you sent a scathing letter!

Very poor article. The TV story last night was only slightly better. The problem with reporters is they try to make every story as dramatic as possible. The headline "Paintball gun blinds kid" will grab more attention than "Kid blinds himself in paintball accident" which is more accurate.

Anyway, I feel very sorry for the kid losing any eye. 🙁 It will be a constant reminder and life changing event. However, I've been telling everybody that has asked me about the story that the kid just lacked common sense. NEVER look down the barrel of any gun. I don't care what kind of gun it is. I've been telling everybody paintball is safe as long as you use some common sense.
