It reminds me of the that movie, The Chirstmas Story.

The kid is blaming the gun because he doesn't want people knowing how stupid he is.

"And I thought it might have been jammed in the barrel so I looked down there and it fired at me."
Bullshit, I know that kid hit the trigger somehow. He bumped the trigger not meaning to and it cause a ball to hit his eye.I know they are lying about something, I'm not that stupid.

It was an icicle that fell and hit him in the eye, not a paintball accident.

Who writes this dribble anyway.....they get paid for that?
ppppuke....really too bad about the boy, I hate to see that.

at the Sppl practice last saturday, I see this player walking in the parking lot with a gassed up marker and no barrel sock or plug. As a ref I suggest he put one on....so he jams his little finger down the barrel and keep walking.....if that marker went off his finger would be jello.

I ran him down and made him take his tank and barrel off with a strong warning 😠

what the kid did was stupid but still its tragic what happened to him. We all know that looking down a barrel of a loaded marker is stupid but it still doesn't make what happened any less sad. But what can help make people not do stupid things? More news coverage on how to be safe? I personally don't think that's going to help. How many times has the news already done an article or media coverage on how to be safe? People will do stupid stuff even if they know that they shouldn't do it. All we can do is show everybody that this sort of thing doesn't happen all the time or at tournaments. All we can do is be safe ourselves.

This is the email address they give for comments. I suggest we all take five minutes to educate them about paintball in general, and how badly they reported this story...

I plan on watching the news segment several times and listing all the things wrong with it, so that I can make a clear concise complaint, instead of just ranting at them.

The story was on Channel 5 Eyewitness News, not ABC.
