Addicts Tournament 2/18

What's up with no trophies at the Addicts Tournament? I would think the kids participating would much rather have a trophy / medal to display than a case of paint - they buy that regardless and can't show paint off. Just wondering - from the side lines.

The decision was made to forgo the trophies. In order to offer bigger series prizes.

Trophies will be given for the top 3 teams in the series. We decided to give away paint for the very reason you stated, they are going to buy it regardless. From the input we received from people prior to the decision, they would rather have a little bit of financial help (ie, paint) during the series, and the big prizes at the end than trophies each event and then ho hum grand prizes at the end.

We are happy to have certificates made for each of the players on the winning teams if they would like, just let us know.

Thanks!
Lisa

Seems like someone always has to complain about something.......

A good idea about complaints, offer a viable solution to the problem that you are complaining about.

I agree with that, i mean people don't realize how much it takes to put on a great tournemnt and series like addicts has accomplished, personally i think they have done a great job in doing this and have done so much for the paintball community, Great job Johngo and Lisa and all the addicts crew and ref's you guys did great. Keep up the hard work.

wow

I would much rather have paint than the trophy.

PAINT= 60.00 bucks

Trophy= Just sits there to show off.

So Lisa, thanks for giving the paint because teams can use it to practice, we cant practice with a Trophy LOL.

Didn't mean to post a "complaint" rather a question. I would much rather have something I have to "dust" off every now and then to serve as a memory than a case of paint that is gone after one practice. Of course, I could always save my box and dust that off.

You dont

With all due respect, I dont think you know how much it cost's to play paintball. I guess if you have a lot of money you would want the throphy, but for the rest of us I am sure most of us would want the paint so we can go practice or we can put it towards the next tournament.

"With all due respect" I DO know how much it costs, I have children that participate in the sport and yes, on the tournament level also. When they participate in baseball, soccer, etc., they receive a trophy and it doesn't cost me $200 plus for a tournament in addition to the $25+ a week for practice. Not to mention the cost of MARKERS, apparel, maintenance. As a parent I do not mind dusting off their trophies to show how proud we are of their achievments. It's like buying a souvenier on a vacation, it is something to look back at. Not to mention 10, 15 or even 20 + years it is something for YOU to remember your achievments by. But like I said earlier, this wasn't a COMPLAINT! it was only a question. You can't tell me the little bit of money it would cost to provide a few trophies is that much out of what the promoters took in that day. When you add registration, and the money made on a case of paint I myself feel they could spare a few dollars even if it is just for us the parents - after all we pay for it.
