Woot I have a question what are the division classifications going to be?? Also the player classifications? I just want to know if I am eligble to play and if I am I need to get some people together to play.

And what Does full sponsorship into the sppl entail? Entry, Travel expenses or just the event its self? I don't See anything wrong with asking for some clarification.

Wasn't meant as a dig, was trying to raise interest. Thats all i was asking. No need to go on the defensive.

Sounds like a great series on a great field!!!

No, you owed me a phone call and haven't returned one. Ha, Ha.
No offense taken.........

The SPPL Western Regional will probably be staged at Spec Ops field next year. Not totally sure yet. And you're right! We are dealing with a different set-up for this 5-man skirmish event. We have some committed teams, but we won't know how many until it's over.
We have set the minimums on the number of teams we need in the post. There has been ongoing discussion about which way to go on paint - BYOP or Field Paint only. These are all factors which will decide on the final prize purse, except for the Division 1. Velocity is committed to the full sponsorship on Division 1. Bottom line, if the teams sign up, we will make sure the prize package will make them anxious to come back the following year.

Give Jason a call Derek.

Thanks....

The divisions are open for 2006. Ages are 10 and up. If you apply for the Division 1 Tournament (restricted markers) SPPL requires that you be at least 18 years old. My understanding on this was to allow for the teams across the country to travel to the finals without under age restraints.
In 2007, we will carry divisions for this tournament. So, right now it is wide open and is an excellent opportunity for experienced players. However, it will still be challenging even for the experienced players, especially with the time clock involved.

Urban Town/The Island

Modifications will be made to the Urban Town areas this spring. The buildings are going to moved back to allow for expansion of playing area, in time for the 5-Man Skirmishes.
The Island areas will also be expanded for the Skirmishes. More props will be added. This is temporary however, as we are still going to do the Castle on the Island and grade an area for that in 2006.
A safe zone will be added to the Riverside area, eventually more buildings. More props for the Skirmishes will be in place.
