The Xbox 360 magic is slowly, but surely, beginning to dissipate, and behind it, we're beginning to see a very ugly truth. It seems that the console has more problems than previously thought, and that Microsoft doesn't really care that much about what happens to the console once it's sold.
So, according to gameshout.com, it seems that one very common problem encountered by the Xbox 360 fans is the fact discs get scratched by the Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L DVD player if the console's position is changed while the DVD is inside. But what's even worse is that, according to Microsoft, they will not refund or replace discs that are scratched from the Xbox 360 video game console. However, they will offer "Perfect Dark Zero" for free.
Most retailers such as Wal-mart will not accept video game exchanges once the package is opened. However, in some cases you may get past that policy if the CD does work. In this case, it is all scratched up. So does the policy apply?
It seems to me that Microsoft is taking the gamers for fouls. Something like "So, like, OK, I've sold you a malfunctioning console, you've spent some hundreds of dollars on games, now almost all your DVDs are ruined, so come over and I'll replace them all with Perfect Dark Zeroes." Well, I ask of you, who needs a handful of DVDs with the same game, anyway?

I am very upset with the way microsoft is solving this problem. I would have expected more from them but they have let me down to many times.I love xbox but the xbox 360 has let me down. Perfect dark is a good game though, but you only need one copy.

As of Dec 14th 326,000 units have been sold in the US alone. 5% of that is 16,300. A number that is far too high, and certainly unacceptable. Personally, I am waiting for the PS3 to come out and then I will weigh my decision then of which one to get.

its not 5%, its 15, and thats not including the unreported ones so far, and the ones still in stores and not bought yet. if you are looking into buying a new system, wait til the ps3 is out for a couple of months, to see if it has any release problems, and once those bugs get fixed, then make your choice.

All this whining! Just get an Atari 2600 and you can play REAL games like Pac-man, Kaboom, Missle Command, Centipede....., oh I could go on and on. The original is always the best.
