We also have to remember that if we express our opinions we can be seen as speaking for our entire service so we all need to be careful what is said and how it is said.

As a military member I will not discuss politics with anyone outside of my friends. My duty is to support the Comander in Chief in all decisions.

I don't mean to be a downer...sorry.

My two cents is that the democrats want to make the anti war people happy and pull the troops out. I have listened to several programs where democrats have dissed the war and the plan that is currently in place. When the anchor person asks them what the democrat plan would be for Iraq, they avoid the question and fall back on saying that the current plan is crap.

I for one support the reason for being there and the fact that we are helping people. I wish I could be in the military, heaven knows I tried. Stupid medical problems!!!!

Although I can't serve with you my thoughts are with you and I support our forces 100%. I just wish that civilian could live one 24 hour period in the boots of one of the service men. I think we would be much more apreciative of them and the service they provide.

Personally, I would take the word of the troops far above the politicians as to how the war is going. After all these gentlemen and women are seeing it first hand (good and bad). The politicans are getting 3rd and 4th hand information which is then "interpreted" according to their needs and passed along.

Well said Jason!

People are so easily swayed by the pessimistic view of the media. (i.e.=all we hear about is troops dieing, or more car bombs HENCE, we need to pull our troops out).

Very seldom do you hear the "GOOD" that has been/being done by our forces being in iraq and elsewhere.

I for one commend our armed forces and the job they are getting accomplished.
