3-man x-ball could be affordable if it is done correctly with a generous limited paint format.
Don't limit the number of paintballs per match! However, limit each team to 7 pods per point! They can divide up the 7 pods however they like depending on their startegy. Example: two players with three pods and one player with one pod, two players with two pods and one player with three pods, et cetera.
This will solve for the paint consumption problem (which is the biggest problem with x-ball) while still allowing the ferocity and excitement of the x-ball style to exist.

3 man xball with limited paint
5 man rookie to make it more affordable and easier to make teams
7 man novice

Also will this be a series of events or just a few ones for fun.

I will stick my gun under your mask and ramp on your face for a few seconds to disorient you, then I will proceed to tank whip you in the nuts repetitively until you pass out in the middle of the field so I can wear you on my back like a buffalo hide and sneak behind the rest of your team.
What can I say I don't like cheaters 🙂

3man xball, just do bring your own paint. 7man would rock as well.

Not to burst bubbles, but any tournaments that are done at Velocity (aside from a pump, or mechanical tournament) will be a GOOD FPO. And, as with most tournaments, we would have a bulk paint discount for teams.

I really like this idea..

3 man X-ball really seems to be the favorite, but keep the ideas coming...
