Smugglers Run The aftermath

We came, we saw, we tore it up all day.
The silent Assassins would like to thank the Red brotherhood and the Shadow Militas for being such good targets.
J/K For being such good sports.

I personally had a great time. The last battle was a riot. I shot 11 pods and 3 hoppers 😁 Man that double trouble eats paint.

What did you guys think???

We had a great time up there yesterday. Lots of paint was thrown and worn with pride. Thanks for a great game. It was well worth the drive from St.George. We are looking forward to next year.

I personally would like to thank EVERYONE that came and was involved one way or another to help pull this off. The staff was very appreciative of the good sportsmanship. It was about 90% good and 10% questionable. We had some ref cancelations at the last minute that made it a bit harder, but I feel our refs did an awesome job for being short staffed. I know the game had a false start at the beginning, (which we apologize for) but I feel it was better to make sure we had an "even" game instead of playing on. On another good note, I have seen a lot of the video that was shot during the game and I laughed my head off!! It looks like everyone was having fun, and so was barney!! 🙂 In the video it was good to see a lot of smiling faces and "generally good" attitudes.

I must say I learned a lot from this game; the most important being the need for good leaders. We will try very hard in the future to better ourselves and make each event better than the last. We will certainly impliment what we have learned and apply it to next time. I mentioned that Smugglers Run would be a 24 hour game next year, and we are going to try everything in our power to make it an AWESOME game.

I would like to again thank the staff, generals, refs, sponsors, Spec Ops, and most importantly-- all the players! Thank you very much for your enthusiasm, and dedication to having a fun game of paintball. I will admit that there are times in this sport when there are concerns about "wiping" "hot guns" and generally bad sportsmanship (which will always exist in paintball-and any other sport for that matter), but I am always impressed by those few that come up to me after they have been a victim of bad sportsmanship and tell me that they dont really care and are having a great time anyways. They are not only examples to me and the way I should play, but they are also examples of what this sport should be about. When a female can come up to you after being lit up by the good ol razorback, with multiple bleeding welts, and even a torn shirt and say she is having a great time with a smile on her face---It makes me think A little about all the times I have maybe got upset over a bad call, or an overshoot, and realize that it is IN FACT part of the game.

We will always try to make sure that we keep a close eye on "bad sportsmanship" and be swift and sturdy in reprimands, but in a game where you rely a lot on honesty, and the honor system, it will always be something difficult to have a firm grasp on. Its up to each individual to asses themselves and how they play, and then change it for the better of the game we all so very much like to play.

Again, I thank everyone for the many great comments we got about the game and the field, and I thank you all for coming to play.

LONG LIVE SMUGGLERS RUN-- SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR FOR WHAT SHOULD BE AN AWESOME 24 HOUR GAME!!

After such a great beginning to a new scenario paintball game, "The Smuggler's Run", you ponder about a lot of things. First, ditto to what my son has already posted. Velocity Paintball has had only two scenario games, and we will keep getting better and better!
With paintball, there always seem to be snags. We analyze, and then we adjust the next scenario to try and make things work better...and they will.
As with every paintball game, things seem to work out in the end. There was a lot of hard work put in to pull this scenario off. A bridge was put in to the island during the last month, netting had to be re-arranged, and the logistics, oh my!
My heart felt thanks to all of the Velocity Advisory Board. Their combined experience in paintball helped tremendously. They spent extra hours putting this new scenario together. Thanks to all of our sponsors, especially to Spec Ops and for the Razor Back tank.
Thanks to the players! I was on the field a lot, and seen a lot of players throughly enjoying the sport of paintball.
We all found out that the Velocity Paintball Field can hide a lot of players.
The players enjoyed the new dimension of the island play because of the new bridge, there was spent paint everywhere!
There were several people involved with being the Silent Assassins. These players were everywhere, did a fantastic job, and deserve a great deal of credit for the missions being successful.
Thanks to "Barney" (Pete) and to "Waldo" (Justin) for their successful role playing. Once we have an edited video of their role playing, you will see how funny they actually were. Barney and Waldo will be back next year...Thanks guys!
Thanks to all of the office staff, especially my wife. The office staff pulled this scenario off with dedication and long hard hours.

Now, as my son has mentioned, we are trying to extend the Smuggler's Run into a 24 hour scenario. The success and fun of the game dictates that. There will be some adjustments and some changes and more sponsors.
We hope to have "The Castle" completed before then, and a new scenario game premise will be built around "The Castle" prior to The Smuggler's Run II scenario game. Watch our web site for dates, times, and news updates. The fun games have just started!!! 2006 will be a great year for scenario and tournament games at Velocity Paintball.......plus a few other surprises!
Thanks again everyone!

Red Brotherhood EXO here

It was a blast, had fun, minus the leg cramps. Shot some general, rode in the Razor back shot up the enemy and had a great time.

But it was the great players we had, we pointed and said go, they went they got it and then some. Great job guys and gals. Lets do it again next time.

P.S. Only one problem, anyone else have problems with the pink fill, it stained my proto mask plastic.

💬 boo yeah

smugglers was great. contracts were made alliances were broken and a couple of times we double crossed and did our own thing. it was a blast. and from what i heard everybody loved it. it kept everybody on thier toes. it was great to see the looks in the eyes of a team that we were working for when we showed up on the scene to do some "damage control" we had everybody pointing guns at us waiting for us to make a move. ha, it was the best just watching people get all jumpy. we'd act like thier friend then shoot them. it was the best and for all you namby-pamby moma's boys that didn't come, well better luck next year. we might need some assassins for next year. if any of you guys or gals want in, you got to prove it by coming out and playing with us and just having fun. i'll see you all at the business end of my hand cannon.

And one other thing... It would be really helpful for us if people posted their ideas, or what could be better, changes, etc. for Smugglers Run. We really would like feedback, so we can make changes and make the game even more fun next year. We dont mind criticism, so long as you also give a good, economical, idea on how to fix it. Feel free to post it hear, or PM me.

Thanks

that was fun except when u guys were shooting us 50 feet out from our base, which is not cool, bonus balling, hot guns, wiping, not that i'm accusing u of any of this u helped my friend adjust his '98 custom a while before the game started and my damn icon Z broke yeah, you played fair but your team cheated, and got the cards punched a few times
