It has been my experince that in big games and tournys the losers usually complaine about wiping and hot guns. While the winners usually don't have much complaining to do.
IMHO The RB won because they were the more agressive team. They were better orginaized and simply out played the SM. The SM may not have complete their missions in a timley fashion, I watched the SM commander toss aside 2 diffrent mission and send his men off to some other part of the field. it's always sad when cheating goes on. The real team ๐ were the Assassians ๐ 7 guys taking names and kicking but all day!! booya __________________ Last edited by Pale Rider : 10-13-2005 at 05:18 PM.

playing with honor. It is sad that people have a problem playing with honor. After all it is just a game. There was problems from both sides I saw a red brotherhood get shot at least 5 times after he called himself out. I myself was shot after calling myself out and i have a bright orange barrel sleve that I put on before I stand up. Some people just want to keep playing no matter what which just ruins it for everyone. I agree with pale rider that the red brotherhood worked as a team. We spent over a half an hour gaurding the flag on the air ball field without seeing 1 person from the shadow miltia. Beter luck next year. And remenber the team HORNY TOAD moto " Save the wipping for your butt you cheating scumbag"

One of the silent assassins made a good point to me the other day about the wiping issue that I wanted to mention here. One thing that he saw happen (and I saw as well) was people shooting through a lot of brush and trees--which we have a lot of out at velocity...anyways, when there is a lot of shooting going on through brush and trees, it causes a lot of splatter.
Now what we both witnessed was people wiping off splatter so they could see through their goggles, and almost immediately people were yelling at them for wiping. The refs are not going to call it unless its a splatter larger than a quarter. Now I know this isnt the case in all wiping situations, but if we both saw it, then there is a good possibility that it was the cause for a lot of accusation. Anyways, just some food for thought. I say again,, I know it is not the excuse for all wiping situations, but Im sure it was the case in many of them.

๐ฌ Ha Ha... I'm finally in! It took some time for me to finally post here. (registration/password issues)
It was good to see that all the hard work (that so many of us put in) paid off. So many people had a good time as a result of all the planning and dedication that went into this game. The paintball community has benefited and will continue to benefit from the efforts of Velocity. I know it was such a great relief to sit down at the end of the day and know that we did a good job, given the obstacles (Ref/Assassin drop outs... ๐ ). By next yearโs Smugglerโs Run Iโm sure we can all expect to see more players, more refs, more props, more scenario missions, and generally more fun. Iโll be bringing more of my friends. How about you guys?

Welcome Jessie! Welcome Jessie,
Thanks for the comments...Considering all of the obstacles to overcome prior to Smuggler's Run, the feedback and e-mails have been positive! For one of the General's to come back and say that it was the most fun he has had playing paintball in fifteen years, that is quite a compliment......

i agree alot with "Pokey the Bear" the SM did get thier butts handed to them mainly from a lack of team work. we (silent assassins) would be bought to take an area for the milita, which we would do, however we could not get thier troops to help out enough, when took back the village, only two people were left to defend it. which are not good odds. also the SM team would move together out in the open instead of spreading out creating a chance to wipe out a good number in a short amount of time. and i rarely saw team work within the team and a large lack of leadership. not from the general but the team captains and the players. i'm not pointing this stuff out to be a jerk or to create tension. the point is to help out and and to give some pointers. when ever the assassins would roll up on the scene to roll RB heads you guys played great because you thought that you had an advantage over the other team. but the truth is confidence is all you really needed. i think that the funniest thing that i seen as i was walking around during the ice chest mission; a member of the RB was pooring paint onto this poor guy from the SM and the RB player was getting upset that the SM player has yet to call himself out, he was demanding paint-checks and yelling like a lunatic. so i walked up there to check him and when i got up there i realized that the players shots were falling about 5 feet short of the mark. the moral of the story is that not everybody was wiping you just have bad aim. as for hot guns there were enough that i could count them on one hand and have fingers left over. paintballs to hurt when they hit you. and some of those shells were harder then usual. mostly the green stuff, and some of the yellow. happy huntings, El Captain Kain

it kind of pissed me off how we (SM) would not help each other. i was in the sniper tower with three guys moving to the airball field. they pass me when i am telling them there is a RB in the bushes trying to shoot me. totally pissed me off (I got him though)

it's like i said, you guys played awesome when you had some kind of direction, but when you were left on your own then thats when things got ugly. everybody wanted to be a hero. players don't win tournaments, games, or scenerios.... teams do.
