Now you get it from the other side.

I think Neil addressed that adequately.

You all knew the rules and you chose to not to follow which resulted in consequences. So stop all the bashing, YOU made your choice. It sounds like you are happy at 801 so leave it at that. The old cliché goes, “misery loves company.” Negativity only drags everyone down no matter how fulfilling or rewarding you think it may be to your site.

I'm not sure exactly who you're blaming for the negativity here? With I believe one exception, all threads regarding Utah Paintball have been started by our users, not the Administrators or Moderators. If they're mad about being banned or just pissed at Utah Paintball, it's their choice to talk about it. The difference is, we let them talk about it here.

If you think our negative attitude is so pervasive, try taking a look at the rest of the forums. In a couple of weeks we've accumulated approximately 150 threads. Maybe, MAYBE ten are regarding Utah Paintball. Congratulations, you piss off a bunch of people, and still only rate 7% of the discussion on a message board that owes much of its rise in membership to their dissatisfaction with you.

I hope I do not embarrass Tubyboy, but this is just one classic example: Neil suggests Tubyboy does not spam but then adds, “I won't even pretend that I'm in a position to tell you what to do.” Or you tell him, “It would be funny, but…” Is it so funny now, would it be funny if it happened to 801? So, with that little ounce of encouragement, Tubyboy now advances on with PM ing. Once Allen reads the post that Tubyboy is Pming, Allen then sends him a quote on fighting for a noble cause and poor Tubyboy does not know if what he did is right or wrong. Luckily, he was unsure of the interpretation or who knows what would have happened next. It is not until later that Allen puts his foot down and says “no more.”

Your first mistake is the assumption that there's any sort of leadership here at all. Neil and I are here to technically facilitate conversation in the community. Installing forum software on a webserver gives me no authority to tell people what to do, and at every turn I have advised people against doing things that I think would be irresponsible. However, I think I have neither the right, nor the responsibility to attempt to restrict people's actions. Even if I wanted to, what could I do? Threaten to ban them if they did something I didn't like on somebody elses forums? I'm sorry, but we don't participate in the ridiculous here (at least not on the administrative side).

On a side note, that's excellent work quoting me out of context to make me look bad. What I actually said is it would be funny to watch them try to ban everybody under the sun, because I think the policy of banning anybody who posts something you don't like is patently absurd.

Good advice. Make sure you take it yourself, before you decide to post another long-winded rant criticizing and threatening our users and administration.

This will be my last and final visit and post on 801. It seems I can rest assured that there will not be any more foul play from 801 users and the admins are back on track. Therefore, please do not reply to me personally as I will no longer be returning. I have other priorities I need to focus on and this email alone has taken up much of my time. Good luck to you all.

On behalf of everybody at 801 Paintball, welcome back.

Thanks, Heidi

Why that would be relevant is beyond me, but, I'll echo Neil, and we'll keep our logs intact.

😠

EVERYBODY GET OVER IT!!!!!
If you got beef, stay away from each other, if you don't, then leave it alone. There is bad blood, and that just seems to be the way it goes(and don't tell me that neither side has any problem with the other, that's bull shit).
It's a big state, if you don't like each other, then you can mostly avoid each other(or at least make the effort).
Or..............................
Everyone who is involved can grow a pair of balls and settle it on the field...

💡

All I can say is that utahpb has become more of a dictatorship and a do what I say and say what I say. If you disagree, off with your head or IP which ever one suits them best.

What happened to the freedom of speech?? I know that the internet is international, but I am pretty sure 99.9% of everyone on Utahpb and here at 801 paintball are Americans. And why can't the constitution and bill of rights apply for us online as well as in our homes and communities!!!

Heidi, if you do come back. I would like you to look up the the constitution and read the part about the pursuit of happiness. Also look at the bill of rights and read the 1st amendment. Hmmmm.....freedom of speech...fancy that.

(can anyone post a picture of the US flag, to give a little more patriotism)

Oh and look at the abbrivation "US" I don't see a me or an I. So don't make everyone else think and post what you deem appropriate!!! Long live 801paintball, freedom of speech, and the USA!!!! 😎 😎

First off, WELCOME BACK HEIDI! I hope you enjoy this say more than your last one.

You must admit that the attitude that utbp took with their forums was very far past the point of anal. I was also banned when posting a link to the same gallery that neil mentioned. After finding a loophole in the banning system (involving changing my password) I was able to make a new login and posted the link again, this time using a nifty service called tinyurl.com. So far as I know it stayed there untill the whole uxpl forum was removed.

for a good example on how a forum can advertise and still be entirly open head over to http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/ . its about rockcrawling, a sport involving a lot of money in advertising. I hope that 801 can grow to in the same way.

I like wattermellons too 😉

A correction if I may, the utahpb site is NOT down for everyone.
They have banned most IP's but are allowing just a few select IP's to have access.

I realize that Heidi only knows 1/2 of the facts and by all reports she is a nice woman so I will not comment except on one point.

She is wrong about me being IP blocked, only rescently. I have been blocked, banned, my posts deleted for over a year. Thats why I did not post thier much. I could never rely on the information staying or if someone would delelte my posts.

Its nice to have a voice back, thanks Neil, Nate, Chris, Gregg & Crew!

I think one of the best things about 801Paintball is the fact that the ideas are allowed to flow so freely. You can't blame the Sight/Admins for the oppinions that the people on this sight share. As you already said, Allen put a stop to things when they got out of hand but other than that people voice their own oppinnions. That is what makes this sight great. Something that UtahPaintball would have benefited from doing.

P.S. The opinion expresed in this post do not represent the opionion of this sight or its administrators. (Just thought I'd clear that up)

I don't really have a say in all of this as I to am banned from utahpb for spamming and i'm not saying its anyone's falut but my own but recetly i have installed a software that changes my ip evertime i get online so now matter what that admin of utahpb does they will not be able to keep me out. I do not have any intention on ever creating a username on their and to create dare i say hell but all i want to do is to be able to read what is going on over there. As i have now spent the better part of an hour reading both sites it seems to me that they are putting all the blame on Christian Eccles (sorry if i miss spelled your name) and if the email he sent to craig is real and i'm sure it is, then what they did to him is wrong. In my opinion (mine alone no one elses) this is getting out of hand, i think we should just drop the entire subject and move on.
