Allen what teams are you making go novice next year? Is it based off of total year points or individual player experience?

Its any team that has made it to finals as i figure... so the total of up to 9(Saying 4 brand new teams take finals in the last tourney) teams in the rookie division will be going to Novice. If you want to stay Rookie, dont make it into the finals.

That Would mean that 5 of the 16 teams would be moving up. So do Novice stay novice or will there eventually be an open division?

Allen told me that an open division was needed for next year and in the planning, im not sure what the guidelines will be.

We are currently evaluting how to advance teams, we are discussing it internally and collecting input from UXPL captains.

It might get complicated becuase we are also negoiating NPPL Feeder status for 2006, and currently the NPPL Div 4 & Div 5 rules are not set. (Yes you read correcly the NPPL is planning Div 4 & 5, for feeder circuits)

The follwing is speculation, it is NOT official in any way

In 2006 advaning teams will probably not be the same as 2005.
It is **LIKELY** that the top 4 season finishers in Novice will advance to the Open Division. Or some combinaton of the top 6 teams or Top 4 season plus any event winners. Nothing is set at this point, we are looking at all the possible combinations and what is fair and best for the league.

But here is the problem we have no room to run an open division unless we reduce the number to teams who can play to around 8 per division x 3 divisions, just as Krispy noted the other day. The Max we can handle is about 24 teams with 3 sets of finals. That excludes tons of teams.

The ovbiously possibility is to go to a 2 day event but that brings up lots of problems with staffing, more costs, venues, and the Sunday play is a problem for lots of teams. We are also considering a Friday night play of prelims for Rookies and then have their finals on Saturday or something like that.

We are looking at every angle to see what works. There are Pros and Cons to each possibility and we are carefully studying each possibility.

As of today 8/4/2005 we are planning on a 4 events of 5-Man, same as this year. We are planning on adding two or three 7-man events, the 7-man events will be 1-2 weeks before NPPL's or XPSL's.

Divisions would be Div 5 (2005 Rookie), Div 4 (2005 Novice), Div 3+ (Open)

Bottom Line is that we are planning a full 2006 season and carefully considering all the aspects that it will take to run an awesome 2006 series. Venues, Classifications, Sponsonships, Costs, Personell, Profitability, etc, etc, etc.

We cant please all of the people all of the time but we try to be fair and upfront with our plans and decisions.

Sounds good to me Allen. Whatever ends up happening, it'll still be tournament paintball, and that will always be fun!

well, another thought.

This last tourney had 28 teams. It seemed to roll pretty good and actually caught up and finished early. I'm sure there could be room for 8 open, 10 nov and 10 rookie equaling the same amount of teams.

just a few more $.'s

3rd field

I would consider adding a third field to absorb the extra games that an open class would create. I know the costs would be increased but the growth is inevitable.

Extra costs would be ofset by added entires

Loved the chrono tent....add a seperate table per chrono station. Allen Pm me for table details. I have a good source for high quality tables.

A third field. Extra cost, more refs. Make it possible for a one day event. I know many people that prefer one day events. Less time away from work, family, other functions.
