Allen Your 5 Man Events Have Been A Lot Of Fun And The Cost Is Low Compared To Other Events We Have Played In. Sure The Cost Would Go Up If You Had A 7 Man But Then There Would Be 2 More Players To Share In The Cost. However It Is Hard To Find 7 Men With Money, If Seams That I Can Allways Find 4 Or 5 With The Cash And Then The Rest Want A Liftime Loan Or Say They Will Pay Tomorrow. I Vote For 5 Man And Maybe A 3 Man Xball Or Young Gunz.

7 man tourney

I think you would have more than you think interested in the 7 man format. I say go for it, give it a try!

If Utah doesn't start having more 7 man tournements to compete in, That makes it much harder to get more practiced teams to the National level.

7-man is more fun and harder in every aspect. It is always hard to keep 7 players together, especially for a whole season. Plus there is always the money issue. A lot of 7 man teams have put their money priorities into the national and affiliate levels of play.

On the other hand like Krispy and others have stated, it is very good practice and preparation for the bigger level events. I also think it is more challenging/rewarding to play 7 man. So maybe to make it work out, just have one or two events, and try and keep costs and prizes low. Then you a) dont have to try and keep a 7 man roster together all year long b) only one or two events isnt too expensive c) all that wanted the event get it, and get to gain the experiance from it.

those are just my thoughts anyway...good luck Allen. Your other events have been fun, so I am sure whatever you come up with will be fun too.

Most definatley

We would be most definatley interested. You could also do it like the old days 5 man on Saturday and 7 man on Sunday.

Some teams would play both 5 and 7.

That was exactly my thoughts, a full series would be too hard but 2 or 3 events with a moderate cost / prizes might work.

Thanks Derek,
The UXPL staff has discussed the play on Sunday issue extensively and for the "dedicted" players its not a big deal but I realize that for the occasional players its a problem.

My feeling is that enough people would prefer NOT to play that it would make things harder hold a 7-man team together for Sunday Play. I realize that mostly the "dedicated" players are the ones who post on forums but I am concerned that it would not work adequately in practice.

..

Hold the 5 man in the morning, and 7 man afternoon to evening.... one idea.... Its not going to be fair for every team. The points may have to be intertwined somehow so that its fair to the regular five man teams t hat want to add a couple players and play 7 man.

The sunday play ......I'm not a fan of playin sundays, although their is the once in a blue moon that i do play onsunday. I know their are a lot of people that won't play on sunday cus that voids thier personal beliefs.
