Do you know how lucky you all are I am from Idaho, and have had two opportunities to play at velocity this year so far, and I want to let all who read this to be left with only one thought and that is how lucky you all are in Utah to have a field of such great future oppertunity, this sport has had its up and downs over the years, and now this day in age we are seeing the opportunities for all of us to get this sport really going, and it takes everyone pulling together and getting everyone involved who wants the opportunity to get their frustrations out from a long day at work, or what have you.
But while I was playing velocity, and seeing the excitement from players and what they had to say about velocity, I wished I had such a place here in Idaho to play on. We half to admit that the cost of playing, and cost of paint, yes is not cheap, but lets look at something that I hope you all will see. To keep a good field going it takes lots of work, tons of time, and lots of money to get what is needed to have such a field as needed to play a great game of paintball, to have great tournaments, you name it, and this all starts with you the player, keeping your money in house. When I say in house, I say dont buy your items for paintball from ebay, or places like that, why? because when you do, the local dealers hurt from this, and then they can go out of business, and when they do, the whole paintball industery hurts from this. When you buy paint from wal-mart, not only do you get un-accurate paintballs, but no fun because you cant hit your target, most local dealers will compete for your business, but why buy from someone than your local dealer, to only save a couple bucks, and only hurt your own hobby. Ok how do we get the extra money, I can think of a million ways to get extra cash to play, even if it means selling lemon-ade on the corner, ok that is little extream, but get on a team and go to local buisnesses and ask for them to donate to your team, as little as 20 buinessess will give your team enough money to play all year, if you plan it right, put their names on your shirt, and send them a picture of your team to put on the wall of their buinessess, wooooo, think of it you now can play in tournaments, and have it paid for. My thanks to Velocity for you hard work, and dedication to keeping the hobby alive, and to all who have helped to making it such a success for the short time it has been open, I look forward to every time I come their to play. To all who play keep your money in the game, and not to the ones who want to take it away from us. You have great local dealers that dedicate themselves to helping you with all your needs, they do deserve to have your buisness, because without them, this sport will die. And when the opportunity comes to play at such a field, remember that when you pay to play, and pay for the paint to play, you are not only paying for the paint and the opportunity to play their, your money is paying for the field to stay open, and you all know, how hard it is to find great places to play, with variety. Idaho paintballers suck. We had a tournament at Virtual Assault in Spokane Washington, and these three old farts from Idaho entered for their first tournament ever and were dumb enough to enter in the upper division. Everyone told them they were gonna get rolled, but they wouldn't listen. In fact, I think one of them was named Bret. What a bunch of newbs.

Yea I agree, us old farts was only 2 games down after 7 games, took a 15 year almost nppl player to take us out, then he went home, just so the other team could push us down and take top 3.
Well I guess I will half to say, man just imagin if we had maybe just a couple years under our belt. Can you hear the paint now? Last edited by Velocity1 : 06-26-2005 at 11:14 AM.

Biglahou I have been offline for a few days so I missed when you first posted. It is really good to hear from someone who know Life is not just the next tournament and how fast can you pull the triger. Here in Utah we have had a few good fields but they were closed due to development or because someone though it was just bad. I have been around paintball for almost twenty years and have found a good field with people who care about the sport, are worth more then any amount of money you save by going outside the local area. So hope to see you at Velocity sometime .

So you're saying that they called in a "ringer"? Are you saying you would've gone home with a trophy if it wasn't for that? Please elaborate.

"Ringer" Mike that is the understatment, we may of not taken home a trophy, but taken a higher placement.
Oh well, we will never know till we get to do it again, right. By the way has anyone seen my paint, cant find it.

LMAO. That was almost a full case of EVIL you lost. We dropped it off. I put in on your porch whilst we were all out BS'n.
Oh, and don't worry. We ARE bringing home a trophy next time. We made a couple dumb mistakes, but we learned from them. Bottom line, ringer or no, we aren't going to let them roll us again. I'll get the pull next time.
